For Lent, often we either give something up or pick up a good habit for 40 days. I decided to give money to charity every day for 40 days.
Originally I wanted to give money to homeless people every day, but I actually didn't see a homeless person out on our march last night. So I gave money to the Make-A-Wish Foundation instead.
I truly believe that poverty can be wiped out by people simply behaving well and ethically. If every Irish adult gave €2 a week to a homeless person, that would be €7.4 million to charity per week. That is enough to wipe out poverty. It will be way more effective than the large government spending programs because that money mostly goes into the pockets of a few.
Take a look at €5.9 billion spent in the Ireland 4 All campaign. It's all going to hate groups that support violence against Irish people. None of those groups are helping Irish people find jobs and homes after our society was destroyed by lockdown policies.
According to the Celtic tradition, our sins can be purified by fighting for justice.
