Is @jerrybanfield still human? Is Steemit still human?

9 days ago @jerrybanfield published a very successful post called "10 Ways To Fund A Steem Growth Project!". If you missed it, you can read it here:

https://steemit.com/steemit/@jerrybanfield/10-ways-to-fund-a-steem-growth-project

As far as I understood it, his post is mainly about how you can make money on Steemit. And how he can make money with you making money. One of these ways is using the voting bot he has running on his account.

Wait a minute???

His account IS a voting bot???? Are you kidding me???

Nope. It is true. You can just take a look inside of his wallet and you will see the bids coming in. When you use his bot, you will also get a personal automated comment beneath your post. You can get an impression of it under "comments" on Jerry´s account.

I have to admit, I am not a fan of voting bots. I don´t exactly know, where I have heard this rumour, but somebody told me Steemit was a blogging platform and it´s all about valuable content and community. And the value you provide for the community is called proof of brain. And so Steem is created through proof of brain = Steem is created through the value for the community.

We have many discussions about voting bots. Can a bot separate between valuable and not so valuable content? Of corse not. So is this still proof of brain and providing value for the community or will Steemit finally end up with proof of money?

I am not the only person fearing that Steemit gets overtaken by greed. We had posts on Trending that only appeared there because of bots. And there are so many newbies thinking: "I have to use bots or I will forever be invisible".

How do I as a newbie and minnow feel, when I am not self-upvoting my posts and not buying votes from bots?

So why don´t I just do what everybody else does?

Because I care about the community. A self-upvote has nothing to do with the community liking my content. A bot-upvote in my eyes is nothing more than a self-upvote I have bought from somebody else. How far shall that go? Maybe we all could just create bots and bid for upvotes from bots with higher reputations? So we are able to grow our bot? We wouldn´t even have to talk anymore. Just give automated comments:

"Congratulations, you recieved a 28,64% upvote from "@nice-post-sir-bot"

No thanks. I´ve already had enough of those human "nice post sir" bots around here.

So Jerry is a bot. Is he?

Okay, he is still doing posts. When you dig in his comments, you can also find some personal unautomated ones. And he is a Steem witness. And I believe him, that he wants Steem to grow. Nobody should confuse Steem with Steemit.
He is doing a lot for Steem. Wether it´s the best for Steemit, I don´t know.

So Jerry is a human?

Uhm. Maybe. Honestly I am not sure anymore.

If he is a bot AND a human... that would mean, that... that would mean, that...that...

HE IS AN ANDROID!!!!

Sorry, but there is only this conclusion left. The future is already here.
The androids are already among us!

From now on, I have no other choice, than calling Jerry Banfield an android!

Jerry13.png

Say "Hi" Kids!!!

And what about you? Do you also want to become an android? Are you already a bot? Are you still human?
What´s your opinion? And what would be your android-name?
I guess mine would be "braindroid". But that´s not funny.

Greetings to all of you out there from a real human! See you on Steemit!

And remember:

Use your brain! Use your voice! Use your vote!

Edit: today I used a voting bot. Now that the vote came in, you can see it in the comments.

To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:

Yes definitely

Hi! I'm a bot, and this answer was posted automatically. Check this post out for more information.

This reply kills it!!!!!! HAHAHAHAAA!!!

Congratulations, you received a 100,00% upvote from @liveyourdream who is no upvote bot but an actual human reading, loving and supporting your work.
I don’t know a lot about Jerry Banfield I only heard about him and that he seems to be kinda famous and blah blah blah... Yeah, the fanboy who will ever read this feel free to shitstorm me but I have more important business than keeping up to date about the high-society of steemit.
Wow, my bad side always comes out in the comment section of your posts @brainnipper. Is that a good or a bad sign?^^
But back to topic I won’t talk about him because I don’t know much about him and I’m not really interested in him. But I can tell you that I’m 100% anti-bot since the day I started here and I share your opinion about them.
Your sentence “A bot-upvote in my eyes is nothing more than a self-upvote I have bought from somebody else” made my day and people should think about it. And besides that what about raping the reward pool?
There are some self-proclaimed sheriffs on this platform fighting against reward pool rapists while upvoting themselves like crazy... I think we all know who I’m talking about and I won’t use his name otherwise bye bye rewards coughs no censorship, eh?!
Man, I’m going too crazy deep into this again. But yeah, like I said 100% anti-bot and it’s possible to get some attention you only have to do something for it! Of course I owe so much of my reputation and earnings to DTube upvotes but I have an awesome and growing community besides them supporting me and that’s a great feeling.

Wow, I just had a real déjà vu re-reading my comment... there seems to be a glitch in the matrix again ;)

hahaha this made me laugh. Or, as a robot would say...10100 010 10 100 001.

The only way to find out if he is bot or human, is see if he understands this joke:

If he does, he's a bot. If not, he's human.

LOL We should try this! And FINALLY!!! A real human being communicating directly here! Thankyou!!

The only thing I can say is that I shaked hands with Jerry at Steemfest² and it felt pretty... natural :-) You may travel to his event and find out if this is still the case.

Florida is a bit too far away for me. But I am all in planning SteemFest 2.5.1 here at my village in Bavaria. I already ordered the Blasmusik.

Hahaha, I bet it's gonna be epic!

That is so funny you posted this very funny post when you did. Just last night I was like who is this guy? Somehow I won't up watching one of this YT vids from like a year ago, and he was telling people they would totally buy steem and then they can just upvote themselves every week and get a like 20% return on investment each month, or just start a circle vote where you upvote each other. I was like WFT? why is this guy getting like a 1k+ reward on steemit when he was literally teaching people to abuse it like a year ago.

This was really a fun post to read. Great pics too. I just love how he auto upvoted it. ROLF

BTW, I finally got around to doing that post on bots and steemit behavior I was talking to you about a few days or so ago. I've been up wayyy to late the last couple night and it's beddy by time for me. Peace out.

WTF??? Are you serious? He really told that people on YT???! This is really not the way it should work! And sorry, I missed your post, I was really too much in on this bot-thing and Jerry and @berniesanders and having discussions. I just realized, that this is also not the way to do it. It's too unnerving this way. My next post will be far more positive. I have to go to work now, I will read your post this evening! (It is almost 1pm here^^, I often forget, when I talk to people here, that they are living in a completely other time XD) See you! :-)

Sadly yeppers.

:(

I watched the half. He is still talking about self-upvoting. "I'd rather not do this... but what a crazy strategy this is! Blablabla" >:-(

Hey @brainnipper, great post! I enjoyed your content. Keep up the good work! It's always nice to see good content here on Steemit! :)

Congratulations! Your post has been selected as a daily Steemit truffle! It is listed on rank 10 of all contributions awarded today. You can find the TOP DAILY TRUFFLE PICKS HERE.

I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 41 SBD worth and should receive 101 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.
