Near Death Experiences - Santa Elena de Uairen
As everyone knows that it is my country Venezuela I have more than six years submerged in a deep crisis, and one of the most particular phenomena in the last decade has been the shortage of daily consumer products, particularly with those regulated prices, by economic model implemented by this government. A model that has filled this town with hunger, misery and rancor, where brothers and sisters fight among themselves just because they have a different way of thinking. So much is the crisis that is lived here in this country, that many people have had to leave their families, their home in search of a better future for their families.
For my part, I saw the need to retire from my job, since the salary I had was not enough for me, only to eat two days and to pay for the passage to move to my place of work. Many times I had to go to a place of work without eating, thank God I had my colleagues who helped us with others and we shared the little food we could bring.
With the money they gave me from my liquidation that was not much, when I decided to retire from the company where I worked, I decided to invest it in a business that my brother does in the informal economy, since he had his support and experience because He has been dedicated to this type of work for many years, and so in this way I could get a little more money at least to cover the basic needs of my home, so that my son will not lack anything. For this I had to go to live at my mother's house, which is an hour and a half from my house, because there my brother has a stall in the municipal market where I can sell the merchandise.
Since everything started almost always is difficult and even more so in this country, first I had to find a way to get the money I had deposited in the bank, because the business I was going to make required cash, which is another problem. that is lived here in Venezuela, since the banks give a small amount that only reaches to afford a ticket, first I had to buy merchandise to the greater one by transfer and to sell it to the cost, without obtaining gains only to obtain the money in cash.
As the merchandise that I was going to buy is imported, I had to travel twelve hours and fifty minutes, of course not to stop at the place where I was going to buy the products that I was going to sell in this case rice and sugar. My route starts from the city of Puerto La Cruz Edo Anzoátegui, to Santa Elena De Uairén in the Edo Bolívar-Venezuela, border with the brother country Brazil. In fact the trip was longer because of the stops we had to make to eat, to do our needs, for the traffic, to check the tires and the mechanics of the bus.
It is easy to say that the route is twelve hours until you reach the destination where you are going to make the purchase of the goods, but in reality it is very difficult to travel, because we always have many obstacles in the way.
To make the journey of those eternal hours of road a bit pleasant, the group of merchants that go on the bus and I start singing, telling jokes, imagining what our lives would be like at this moment if we did not have these rulers that nowadays They have ended the peace of this country, only for the greed of money and power.
After that spooky event, I stayed like in the air, watching all the people crying hugging, thanking God that something worse happened, only that he had hit me hard on the arm when the bus hit the tree hard .
After that moment of tension passed, the bus only broke a bit in the front, but could continue rolling to our destination, and thanks to my God was just a scare, I felt that I was born again.
This is one of the experiences that many Venezuelans have to live, a whole odyssey to be able to eat, survive and take the sustenance of our homes, but always entrusted to God to turn all the evil out of our way.
