New Research Alert: Keto Diet May Supercharge Cancer Therapy!

in #keto6 days ago

Hey everyone, sir-kennywayme here!

I just watched an awesome video from Dr. Barry about some really exciting new research into how a ketogenic diet could help fight cancer, and I had to share it. This isn't about just preventing cancer, but actually enhancing cancer treatment.

The video highlights preliminary research from the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Medicine. They've been exploring a type of cancer therapy called CAR T-cell therapy. What's really interesting is that they've found that when your body is in ketosis—meaning it's producing ketones because you're following a very low-carb, ketogenic diet—one of those ketones, beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), seems to help CAR T-cells work a whole lot better.

Essentially, these CAR T-cells are trained to hunt down and kill cancer cells. And get this: they actually perform better when fueled by ketones rather than glucose (sugar). It's almost like cancer's weakness – preferring sugar, is a way to use it's own love of sugar against it and instead power up the very cells that would destroy it.

Dr. Barry mentioned that this is still early research, but it's promising. They're even planning a bigger study, and you can sign up for those trials. I'll put the links in the show notes for everything.

He also mentioned how it ties in with his previous videos about cancer and ketogenic diets. Cancer loves sugar, but in this scenario it appears that ketones are the anti-cancer choice. The video went into how they remove your T-cells, train them to recognize cancer and then infuse them back in you. This therapy works much better when you're in ketosis and have plenty of BHB. That's mind blowing.

Dr. Barry also linked a bunch of resources: other videos with researchers, cancer doctors, and a few books about how low-carb diets can help prevent and fight cancer.

I'm just sharing this information because it's so impactful and it's great to know that there's more and more research showing that we can empower our bodies to fight disease through diet.

If you know anyone battling cancer or who has had a cancer scare, definitely consider passing this information along. Knowledge is power, and this kind of research gives us more ways to fight back.

That's it for today. Stay informed!
