Knight Story is an RPG developed by Biscuit and is supported on the Ethereum blockchain. At the beginning of the game, the player receives their first knight, Eva, who has just completed knight school and has been called to the city in order to get rid of a wide cat.
The game gives the player information about Eva, such as that she can wear a sword, ax, armor, ring, and amulet. The second knight that the player receives after leveling up to level 3 is Tris, an elf and has an archer class. Tris can equip sword, bow, armor, ring, and amulet. The third knight that we are introduced to is Han, a mage who can equip sword, staff, armor, ring, and amulet.
The difference between these three knights is that elf can equip swords and bows, Eva can equip swords and axes, and Han can equip swords and staffs. The common weapon seems to be the sword since every knight can equip it but there are 3 weapons exclusive to each knight (Bows for Tris, Axes for Eva, and Staffs for Han). The knights are all very unique because the player has to craft different amulets. rings and armors for each of them. This is because Eva is a basic class knight and is at the frontlines, which is why she can only equip swords and axes to do melee damage. Tris has an archer class, which is he is at the back and can do ranged attacks.
This variation between each knight forces the player to experiment with different armors, rings, and amulets since Eva would require a better armor since she will be taking a lot of damage. This is a pretty simple concept but Knight Story has executed it brilliantly because every single knight is interesting to use. A new concept that I haven't seen in previous blockchain games is pets. Each knight can equip a pet that has certain perks such as increasing damage, increasing hp or increasing luck. However, amulets and rings can provide multiple perks but not to the extent that pets give. Amulets and rings are a pretty common concept that has been seen in multiple RPG games such as talismans in God Of War(2018).
Another common concept that has been integrated brilliantly into the game is the creation of materials to craft items and synthesis of the same items. Players can collect materials while battling enemies and then use multiple similar items to make better material. For example, 4 pieces of wood make one smelting stone. These materials can be used to craft items such as swords, staffs, bows, armors, amulets, and rings. If you craft two similar items, you can combine the same items to make more powerful items. This feature is incredibly fun since you can do all of this while completing quests. Also, the items that you craft can be stored in your Ethereum wallet as a digital game asset, which means that you can sell it on digital asset exchanges for Ethereum and then convert that into dollars if you want.
A few problems that I identified were that you can't store items in MyKi (your personal Ethereum wallet) until you reach Level 7, which is quite difficult and time-consuming. Another problem that I found in the UI is the location of the restart button which is awful close to other buttons the player uses during a quest. I found myself accidentally pressing restart when I almost completed my first quest which was incredibly frustrating. Changing the location of the restart button would definitely make the gameplay less stressful.
In conclusion, Knight Story is the best mobile game on blockchain because it has a great user interface, rich lore, and smooth gameplay mechanics that are easy-to-use. Knight Story can become one of the best mobile games if the developers release new content to keep the existing player base and run a marketing campaign so that more people can find out.
