Threadstorms might be the new way to write a mini post but are they the best way to get your information across to the community? A post offers you unlimited or close to it characters while a threads is capped at 240.

A thread is short, snappy insight into subject or else just a small portion of a thought that needs to be brought to life. A post is a fleshed out idea on the page that can be debated across the entirety of the page.

A thread can earn you rewards on a smaller scale but probably relative to the effort put into it compared with a post which can trigger larger votes in greater quantity. IT will be important to support threads with vote weight as well.

Both have their uses and over time the community will be able to seperate threads form posts to the extent that we might have a full community that never create a post and just find them through links shared internally on the site.

It's only day one and we ahve a lot of features left to come and hopefully a lot of new users so this is going to be a very interesting experiment to see where people's interest lies. Long or short form content.
