Starting the year with a huge goal. It won’t been easy but it will be fun trying.

Today I’ve finally made my mind to change my life and others around me.

I’m talking about moving from London and emigrating to South East Asia.

Why you may be thinking?  The answer is really simple and I’d like to hear your comments after reading my post, let me know if it relates to you or if you have ever decided to do something like this.

I was born in the UK, absolutely loved it here.  It used to be clean streets, nice people walking around their daily lives, good schools, good healthcare, good economy.  I’m from the east end where everyone is awesome (maybe a bit rough round the edges) but it is the east of of London Town, it was great living here as a kid.

I’ve always tried to eat healthy and exercise properly.  I don’t drink coffee, tea or have fizzy drinks anymore.   However I find that I’m tired every day.  I get enough hours sleep during the day and as I only work 4 days (full time) I have the luxury of 4 days off in the week.

So what’s missing?  I seem to have a better schedule than most Londoners who have to drag themselves out of their beds early in the morning, get ready in the cold (and no one likes getting out of bed in the winter).  Walk to the local tube station in the wet dreary rain.  Get on a packed tube train with other commuters, none of whom are talking.  Some half asleep, some staring into space and others trying to hold on as the trains too packed.

The same goes for the evening rush hour but in reverse, some people sleeping (and you can see they are exhausted), some staring into space (maybe thinking ‘by the time I get home it will be time for bed’).

The food here is mainly processed and not good for our health, we are so engrossed in our lives trying to pay the bills or trying to just get through the month with little salary we have left that we cannot see the harm that we are doing to our bodies both mentally and physically but those bills still need to be paid.

I’ve found the only way to have a fulfilling and meaningful life is if you can enjoy it. but not be selfish and do something good so others may benefit also with the time you have on this earth.

Recently I visited some friend in Malaysia and Cambodia, I instantly fell in love with the places so now I’ve made up my mind to move to Cambodia and start an organic fruit and vegetable garden.  My friend in Malaysia is a permaculture expert and I know a fair amount regarding growing and hydroponics, I’m also a qualified dispenser in medicine but after learning about pharmaceutical companies I only use natural herbs and oils.

I’ve found a few plots of land which would be ideal.  I’m looking for the best seeds to plant as there are so many varieties available in south East Asia which are not available in Europe, I’ll need to get a solar arrangement set up as I want to ensure that the costs remain minimal.  The plot would also have eco cocoons for workers and visitors to stay in, the fruit and vegetable would be sold organically for a price which is fair to everyone (locals and tourists alike).

I am optimistic that action plan will go ahead and I would love any ideas and input you have to share.  Ideas on types of herbs and vegetables I should grow, grow tips for natural organic produce, information on the solar array set up, I've done a fair bit of research but there may be some steemians who have a better understanding.  Please resteem, upvote and comment as I cannot do this without you guys and anyone who contributes will always be welcome at the Eco Garden (suggestion for names) once this idea becomes a reality.

Whatever you want to accomplish this year (maybe not emigrating) here is my advice:

Eat well

Sleep well

Don't stress

Don't work too hard

Have an awesome year and let’s see better times in the days ahead.
