As with everything, using rose essential oil is a use at your risk practice. Remember to use safe practices when experimenting with essential oils. They can be harmful if placed in the wrong areas (such as eyes). Do a good job of exploring information online, or by picking up a copy of a users manual on essential oils prior to use. Potency used in our favor is great, potency used in detrimental ways isn’t so.
Mostly everyone loves roses. The look, the smell, the idea of them, giving and or receiving them, etc. They’re a beautiful sight and make most scenes and environments better for everyone. Rose scents in various soaps and other body products or scent products are also popular. Having rose essential oil in our lives can be greatly beneficial on many different levels. Rose essential oil does differ greatly from other products out there that have a rose scent. Most of them are synthetic and not the real thing. This means that they lack the real healing and vitality raising properties that real rose essential oil has for us. Although the price for rose essential oil is expensive and out of most peoples budget, even a diluted version can be beneficial as well, still wont be cheap though. Quality costs. Once some of the benefits are known and better understood, it will not seem like a waste of money to buy an oil that is so expensive. Lets have a look at a few of the reason that rose essential oil may be a good investment for our health..
Some Info on Rose Essential Oil
Before we move further, it’s important to be clear as to what an essential oil is..
The Oxford Dictionary defines an essential oil as: “A natural oil typically obtained by distillation and having the characteristic fragrance of the plant or other source from which it is extracted.”
When you hear essential oil, think of the blood of the plant, the life force. As for rose essential oil, it’s been used for at least a thousand years and likely longer. An early pioneer of rose oil was an Arab physician named Avicenna. He was one of the greatest Arab doctors during an era in which Arab medicine was the most advanced in the western world. He started around 1000 AD and published a number of books, one entire book he published about rose water, derived from distillation of rose. There are books that go back many centuries that describe uses for many essential oils, including rose. And how they were used medicinally. Some uses will be mentioned later.
Pictured above is Avicenna.
According to the Essential Oils Pocket Reference: 5th Edition, Rose (rosa damascena) is native to Turkey, Bulgaria. “Therapeutic-grade oil is steam distilled from flowers.” It also mentions in the book that it takes about 10,000 roses to produce just 1 little 5ml bottle of rose oil. Ok, now I understand it’s hefty price tag!
One Huge Reason to Have Some Rose Oil
Vitality (Vibration) of a human or any living organism is measured by hertz by most scientist. (For more information on how hertz are measured do an online search and there will be information available). Vibration is what tells us how potent, how alive, how close to death, that an organism is. Personally, vitality is huge to me so when I first heard these numbers years ago I was stunned. In Robyn Openshaw’s recent book Vibe: Unlock the Energetic Frequencies of Limitless Health, Love & Success, She mentions the following…“A healthy human being measures at 62 to 68 Hz. Extremely gifted, productive human beings have been measured at more than 80 Hz. Higher hertz are associated with health and happiness, and lower ones are associated with disease states, depression and anxiety, and low energy levels.” She also includes the following list..
• Human cells mutate when their frequency drops below 62 Hz.
• Humans with a cold or the flu have 58 Hz of measured energy.
• A candida yeast overgrowth causes people to drop to 55 Hz.
• An Epstein-Barr virus patient has a frequency of 52 Hz.
• A cancer patient often has a frequency of 42 Hz or lower.
• The death process begins, for a human being, when frequency is measured at 25 Hz.
• Chicken and beef have only 2 Hz of energy. (They are, after all, dead flesh—and usually have been dead for a long time by the time you eat them.) (The vibration of properly raised, fresher, and loved animal meats vibrate higher than this)
• Greens have 70 to 90 Hz of energy!
If reading these numbers weren’t enough of a surprise, here comes the next one…
Essential oils range from 50HZ to more than 300HZ, they are some of the most vital, potent substances on the planet. Rose oil has a vibration of 320HZ, which is the highest vibration of all measured physical substances on earth. (If I happen to be wrong here please let me know) 🙂
When you apply or consume something as potent as rose essential oil, your vibration will absolutely be lifted, at least in the short term, a long term holistic health program is needed for lasting vitality. A very small amount of oil goes a long way, another reason the expense of the bottle isn’t so scary to me. Although you won’t get numbers as you would from a scientific measurment, a great way to see the vitality in anything is to use a dowsing pendulum, with rose oil that thing will swing like crazy! With most protein powders on the market, it will not swing at all…A very good intro into pendulum dowsing is The Pendulum Kit by Sig Lonegren, absolutely is worth looking into.
Choosing Oil Brands
Essential oil brand selection, I’ll be honest here, can be some work. There are certain brands that are better than others no doubt. I would love to mention some specific brands, but for some reason the essential oil community is like a war zone when you say that one brand is better than than another. It’s a never ending argument, akin to arguing on social media or comment sections of articles, literally pointless. I’ll leave it up to you to do an internet search for top brands of oils. Here are a few tips to keep in mind while choosing..
- Diffuse into the air
- Add Rose essential oil into a spray bottle with water and other oils of your choice to make a perfume or an air freshener, spray on body for a vitality boost.
- Mix into salt in add to bath water
- Mix into shampoo/soap/lotion/cream of your choice. I like coconut oil, olive oil, lard.
- Add into a 10 oz roller bottle with a carrier oil and apply topically
- Rose is a an aphrodisiac, be creative.
- Add into a dessert the would taste good to have a hint of rose flavor.
Always dilute any essential oil before applying it to your skin. Do this until you know your skin can handle them, they are very potent, as previously mentioned, rose being the most potent.
A great up to date and informative read on essential oils in general is a book by Eric Zielinski, The Healing Power of Essential Oils: Soothe Inflammation, Boost Mood, Prevent Autoimmunity, and Feel Great in Every Way. Although Rose oil isn’t the main focus of the book, lots of goodies await inside of it. Many recipes as well.
Vitality, vibration, frequency, all things that aren’t mentioned enough when it comes to measuring good health these days. It is mostly a lot of smoke and mirrors that are mentioned instead. I hope that at some point everyone gets to experience the powers of rose essential oil, and if they don’t like it, at least it was tried and tested. Once upon a time existed a genius who said the following, “if you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration”. That genius’s name, Nikola Tesla. If unfamiliar, do a quick search online…
Awareness and vitality,

Very Interesting! I be try essential oil soon :)
Thankzz
This is very detailed. A long read but worth it. I'll have to try it out. I wonder, do I have to distill the oil myself or I can get the real distilled oil at a store.
Hi there, distilling it yourself isn't the best option, reason being is because it takes so many roses to produce a small amount of oil and distilling it takes some equipment, you're much better off buying it. It pricey but there are some diluted options around that have less rose and are more cost effective. Just need to make sure that the rose essential oil is exactly that. It should be therapeutic grade. Important to ask those questions. Hope this helps!
