Hello everyone,
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Canada Day and share my definitely biased opinion on my country, and how I feel when I see our flag.
I was born and raised in Canada, and remain here to this day. While not agreeing with everything our government does, I have enough trust in them to let them do their thing without following the news or paying too much attention. It is almost like a peace of mind. Living in Canada is pretty much stress free, in my opinion. Not having to focus on what the government is doing and trying to fight against them gives me time to focus on things like early retirement, enjoying life, and just relaxing in general.
When I read the news (which is very infrequently) it is so full of negative stuff about the world, I actually find it depressing. This is the reason I tend not to follow the news. But when I see a Canadian Flag waving in the sky, it always brings my spirits back up. It is like a flood of calmness. My stress levels reduce, my worries disappear, and I think to myself..."Of all places to be born into this world...I was born in Canada...and I have it pretty good"
I've been thinking of this more and more lately, and will especially think of it today while I am watching the fireworks in my city.
I'd like to take a moment on behalf of all residents of Canada, to thank all Emergency Responders...Police, Fire, and EMS. Thank you to everyone in the Canadian Armed Forces and Department of Defense. Last but not least, thank you to our many allies all over the world.
Show your faces, Canadian Steemians.
.
Thanks!
