TODAY’S YOUNG PEOPLE
Are you one of those old folks saying that young people of today are worst and nothing but worst? Are you the person who just looks on the negative side of youths? Now I want to talk more about the side of youths today that are not being seen by others.
Young people today are very visual, intelligent, and in constant search for meaningful and relevant experiences. They can also be hard to please and impatient because they came to this world at a time when everything is instant, fast, animated, colorful, comfortable, and within their reach. Tablets, laptops, smart phones, and the internet taught them that and these. They expect much and are disappointed deeply if their expectations have not been met.
If this is the general nature of children and young people today, then it is hard to bring them to a place where something so basic as a clean comfort room is hard to find; where the place where they can appreciate a new experience like riding a horse stink like hell that the thrill of riding a horse for the first time is drowned by overwhelming stench of horse urine and manure. But who else is to blame?
Old people’s great memories for the young people are built in a place where the human senses are given the pleasure and the joy without the distracting absence of something so basic such as orderliness and cleanliness.
Can’t you see? Children love movement, which is why riding is so appealing to them. And yes, we have the Treetop Adventure to match the desire for adrenalin rush. There are slides, swings, and bikes around the parks, skating rink, an arcade, and the amusement halls at the mall. But with their huge and high expectation, these are not enough.
So that gadgets are being updated so fast to meet the needs of youths to explore more. However, there are many disadvantages that adults often observe in using high tech gadgets. But how can you stop them from using those gadgets where everything is everywhere? Old folk’s duty is now greatly needed. Assistance and guidance are what youths want from you. Not those words that hurt them. Not those angry loud voices from their parents that make them more worst. They need a friendly parents and community that understand and guide them.
Youths also are easily being taught. It is up to the parents to acknowledge those needs of their child to learn. When parents lead their children to where they can explore their skills and talents, youth will not use those intelligent mind into bad deeds.
Some might say that they are being spoiled. But hey! I ask again this question. Who is to blame? Yes, youths are like roaring tigers and lions, but again, who is their model? Parents, teachers, and you as a part of the community, ask yourself, did you do your part in molding the children around you?
I'm one of the oldies. I'm 32 years old. I don't blame them.
Good to hear that. They really are not to blame but those that influenced them or those who taught them since the were babies.
Cassyjanine, I read your post and found it to be very enlightening. You have pretty we'll summed it up.
I am 77, and I have to agree that the only ones to blame are the parents and those who the parents voted into power, such as town councils, school boards etc.
In many cases I think it was the inability of the majority of scociety to see where the future of mankind was headed which allowed the proper upbringing and education to be taken over by a not so desirable system.
I do not dislike those of the younger generation. I sincerely feel afraid for their future. They have never had to suffer or really do without, they have not been taught how to survive should this worlds society suddenly crash.
They are not to blame, they live as they have been taught.

You're right. Sometimes, I got upset when older people in our place talk about the disrespectful attitude of the youths. Why? Did they don't know that it's up to them who raised us? It makes me cry to hear how they blame us for being us.

You make some very good points about everything being instantly rewarded. With computers and cell phones it is hard to teach children patience when we don't have it to give. 🐓🐓
