I can honestly say insomnia is something i have struggled with my whole life.
When I was younger I won't say it anxiety was the main cause for not being able to sleep but going to sleep before 12 never really happened for me.
My sister (@purplerain96) use to tell me to make up my own stories in my head like watching a tv show to fall asleep and I use to do just that I honestly still do but it just does not want to always work.
I struggle to sleep when its to quite and to be honest I'm not the biggest fan of the dark. I like to put a movie on when trying to sleep since that way I have light and sound.
Since I'm older I will defiantly say my insomnia comes from my anxiety at night. If your like me who struggles with anxiety you probably know what it feels like to get anxiety at night when you just want to sleep !! The worst part is not always knowing what it causing the anxiety.
My boyfriend usually complains since he can't hold me cause I struggle to breath.
Ways I have found sometimes work for me is :
When my boyfriend goes to bed early I usually follow ( since I have nothing better to do ) he falls asleep quickly so I will be playing games on my phone or watching videos. When I watch videos and laying in you position the whole time I find that sometimes I'll just fall asleep with no problem.
Cuddling. Every now and again when I'm not struggling to breath I find that when I'm cuddle with my boyfriend or even my dog I also tend to be more relaxed and fall asleep a bit easier.
Making up my own stories in my head. This does not always work since I tend to start thinking about other stupid things that just give me more anxiety. But, sometimes it really does. I'll imagine being famous and what my life would be like or being married and having children. I know it might sound weird but sometimes it really works.
Having anxiety and insomnia is really not something you want to have but I know it's not something you can just get rid of.

There are so many people who really don't know how to deal with it and who doesn't have someone to talk to about their problems.
Maybe just by them reading comments or posts about how other people struggle with the same thing they do can make them feel less alone.
