My Daily Routine: Busy VS Productive - Part 3

In the last post we ended up in the 3rd Session where I told you that my third session goes all the way to 12:30pm. This time I'm usually busy with Steemit, either commenting on my fellow Steemians posts or compiling my own post. If I was compiling my post, like I am now it probably means commenting will be done later on or has already been done in the early morning. It requires discipline to comment daily, and days can go by pretty quickly if you keep postponing and procrastinating. So that's another post altogether, how to hold yourself accountable for the Steemit activities.

Fourth Session

So you will remember I told you that what I do in the next session basically sets the tone for the rest of the day and it's the most important activity? Well here's what I do for 45 minutes daily, I Read. This is the most important thing to do, ever, especially as an entrepreneur. You have to feed your mind constantly. Your mind is like a sponge and whatever you feed it takes form. So it's essential to feed your mind with positivity, all you have to do is work yourself. Work on improving yourself and the rest will follow. I know it's tempting to want to fix everything and everyone else, instead of looking within and changing the person that's looking at your in the mirror. Reprogram your mind and all will fall into place.

The book I'm reading right now is called High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard. I love this book because it's not only about personal development that he teaches you, it's actually about strategies and skills and habits you would need to adopt in order to be a high performer.

I know a few people who do not like the "personal development" topic. They have their reasons. Some people think personal development is for the weak, or it's just all hype, while some think they have intrinsic motivation etc. Whatever your reason is. Personal Development is such a diverse topic that we would fill the whole of the Steemit blockchain and still have different opinions about it. But what I can say is that, personal development is not just about motivation to do stuff, or changing behaviour or lifting yourself up, but it's also about improving your craft - whatever it is.

This is one of the reasons I love the book i'm currently reading. It teaches practical habits to assume in order to become a better performer in whatever field of expertise or life in general. High performers have a different mindset, so this book teaches how high performers think and the mental processes they go through which lead them to be who they are in everyday life. And not just temporary change, but we are talking permanent change. So if you want to be the best at what you do then I highly suggest you get yourself a copy of this book. It will change your life. He just addresses 6 habits that are necessary to change in order to be a high performer. I am almost done with this book but I would not mind reading it all over again. I probably will.

In future posts I will share my favourite books. You can share yours too below, I like keeping an open mind and seeing what's out there. But anything related to personal development, entrepreneurial/business books teaching you about utilising your time effectively, wisely, strategic planning etc. These are the types of books I enjoy.

Fifth Session

So when I'm done reading, this is usually around 13:30, then it's time for lunch. Now here's the thing about me, I like having my food already prepared or if I have to prepare it myself then it shouldn't take long. Even though I can cook but cooking is really not my favourite activity. So I like my lunches to be something quick, something that doesn't take too long to prepare. My wife does a better job in this field. She's a qualified Food Developer and she does this daily, coming up recipes, being creative and creating some awesome meal ideas. That's I'm lucky to have her on my side. So as you can imagine for lunch I will either have some left overs from the previous day's dinner, or if I prepare lunch myself then it'll be something really quick.

Some of what you could expect on my plate for lunch, if I prepared it myself, are scrambled eggs, cucumber, lettuce, brown bread, beans, cheese and then a veggie sausage. This is like the quickest it can get. Then I'll have either coffee, tea or cold drink with it depending on the weather. But this is one of my typical quick lunches, or I'll even have Noodles as well, they take very little time to prepare so that's fine. Or Macaroni and cheese. I think you get the picture.

One thing I discovered recently, which I know some people won't approve of is while I'm eating I have to do something useful on the side as well. I know most foodies will tell you you need to enjoy the food, be mindful and just focus on the food, every bit and every chew. Like really enjoy the taste etc. It's different with me, I guess I enjoy it in a different way. In search of using my time wisely I actually discovered an activity that has now become a habit, when I eat. So I rarely just eat and just focus on that, unless I'm eating with family. But when I'm alone I try to do other things while I eat too.

Want to know what it is that I do during my meal times at lunch? Be on a look out for my next post. You'll find it very interesting, or not. Very effective, or not. You be the judge. Catch up on my first and second posts below.

My Daily Routine: Busy VS Productive - Part 2

What are some of the activities you do that you think would add more value if I included them in my daily activities? And how would you do things differently? Let me know below.

Sort:

I work from home do the same as you but restickt myself to start up our family at 7 ( were with the six off us ) and at 8 we are all on our way. I work till 12.30 luch and read the paper, than at 1 back to business till 2 welcome the kids home and then back at it till 6. Everyday is different but i post 3-4 times a day its not alot off affort butwoman can multitask.... maybe thats the difference. I wish you well and lets keep reading eachothers posts

That's brilliant @brittandjosie. That's one thing I struggle with, multitasking lol. I can't multitask to save my life. But as you are saying, everyday is different. Sometimes life happens and you have to attend to it you know. But it's good to know that you have a set of tasks and routine to fall back into. It's easy to linger about and watch the day go by without being productive. So it helps to have a routine, and of course one should be flexible whenever necessary. Yes we can do that, Following you now.

We are too hard on ourselves some days we do little I take that as a treat ( mum life is busy and with work ) and There are days I work My Ass off twice

LOL. Variety is key indeed. But that's the beauty of working from home isn't it? Being able to take a day off if you want and then again work as hard as you want and as you can, any day. I think it's awesome.

Me too, but My fellow schoolmums and farmers wives in this little lovely village dont understand it at All. Thats funny to me I mine 😉😉.... 😉 My own business and When I say crypto they ask WHO??

hahahha!!! Sounds like you have some work cut out for you, to educate them about this wonderful technology we have on our hands.

I say mine My own business but I mean crypto and they dont have a clue and talk back in the other direction, I have fun only silently. Still learning myself dont do educating just yet.

Dear @cryptoprofessor

I just decided to visit your profile and check out your latest content only to notice that you didn't blog in quite a while already.

Hope you didn't give up completely on Steemit?

Cheers, Piotr

Hi @crypto.piotr. I'm back. I must say I missed Steemit. It's great of you to check up on me, thanks. I think I'm ready to continue my journey here after almost a year. I must say it's been a while. But I miss my people here. Looking forward to the journey ahead.

I have just completed my first post after a very long and it felt good :) https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@cryptoprofessor/how-to-check-if-a-company-is-a-scam-watch-this-before-you-join

Dear @cryptoprofessor

line2.png

Good to have you back! :) And thx for sharing this link. Will check it out right away.

I also wanted to make some suggestion.

My impression is, that the hardest part of attracting attention on STEEMIT is the fact, that our audience have very little chance to actually find our publications. Lack of solid notification system is an obvious issue. And regardless how hard I would try - there is very little chance I would find out about your new interesting publications (my feed is just flooded with to many posts).

Please allow me to share some suggestion with you. If you would ever publish content related to blockchain, crypto, artificial intelligence, psychology etc. then perhaps you could simply send me memo with link to that post.

This way not only I would have a chance to read your publication, but I will also upvote it right away with 20k SP voting power. If I would consider it interesting then I may also share it with wider audience.

Please let me know what do you think.

Cheers, Piotr
