Why You Should Always Taste the Food Before Adding Anything!

I don't remember where I heard this story exactly, but I remember the gist of the story for sure. It goes like this:

A powerful businessman is looking to hire a second in charge. He wants to groom this individual to take over the business someday, so he must be able to "trust" the individual as much as humanly possible. While he knows some great individuals that could perhaps live up to that standard, he wants something to separate the have's from the have not's as the saying goes. So he decided to invite them all to dinner and see if he could find the right person. He narrowed it down to three and invited each candidate to his favorite Italian restaurant. He did this in large part because the food at this place was insanely good and always perfectly well seasoned.

Anyway, he has dinner with all three individuals and in the process noticed something about one of the candidates in particular, and he hired this person the next day. The company went on to make bank and allow for the creator of the company to retire with the peace of mind he so desired. What made this individual stand out? When they got their food they tried it before adding anything to it, i.e., they didn't assume to know that the food needed something before they knew how it tasted.

Hence, always try that food first kids, especially if it is during a job interview!
