Everything in life comes with a price and thats the price we are paying for been civilized, however,it all depends on us to balance the equation by making sure we are getting more of the merits than the demerits.

True words, the biggest threat to civilization is the human itself and the ignorance of them. If this would not happen we would be on the next level already because technology could be much more developed already.

i would argue that the biggest threat of civilization, are the governments of the world due to fear of disruption and at the same time luck of proper education

I wouldn't say it's the government itself, but of course they take their part of it. But even if people get proper education there are so many people who just ignore facts and want to make their own little "world" as it pleases themself. That's the real problem. Government is one part of this.
Too much information is causing problems for us to be able to think for ourselves. We need to get information from credible sources than make our own judgement on what to do.
I do agree ... It is helpful to have truly trustworthy industry and academic professionals that can share their great experience and and superior knowledge. But their credentials and motivations must be 100% respected - which is attainable but sadly not common!

An interesting point of View I think Governments and Religion have a lot to answer for, In terms of the environment we are not helping the, "So Called Ozone Layer" Though life in all forms is cyclical..

Good post @icedrum. Here in nigeria parent prevents their from vaccine they believe it causes child death, about 95% of the uneducated ones and very few of the educated ones

A meteor strike like the ones that wiped out the dinosaurs would truly challenge civilization’s ability to cope. Tens of millions would die in the strike and subsequent effects like earthquakes, dust and tsunamis. Then an ice age would set it. We are overdue and scientists are warning us we are badly unprepared for such an event. @icedrum

Interesting stuff. I don't have children so I'm not in a position to decide whether to vaccinate or not. Personally, I don't trust pharma, a lot of the medicines aren't safe and they do terrible things to people. I don't get the flu shot and when my husband got shingles at 29 from work stress, he chose not to get that vaccine. It's a tricky topic, I appreciate the information you've provided and your openness to discuss.

Life has its own way of evolving. Take mosquitoes for example. In my country, our government tried to eliminate mosquitoes by means of fogging. It ends up mutated the species and now it has immune to the poison once used to kill it.

When I had the Flo I decided that I want to let my body heal, I didn't go to class for a few days because I didn't want my classmates to get the Flo but it passed, when my girlfriend needed to take a papiloma vaccines she consult with me and I didn't think for a second that she doesn't need it - so of course use a vaccine.
Why can't it be a combination of the modern medicine and the old medicine?
Just choose your medicine by the specific situation that you in (of course, choose the same way for your children) and not by a believe that you have

Simply pick your drug by the particular circumstance that you in (obviously, pick a similar path for your kids) and not by a trust that you have
You need to follow the advice of the doctor or somebody who has knowledge about it because it can be dangerous

The whole vaccines are (with maybe some exceptions) totally worthless in my opinion.
Why dont we just boost our immune system directly, so it can easily resist all the danger things. Instead of treating our body as garbage and then let the doctor use the magical vaccine to safe us. hehe

the greatest con is the flu vaccine - just study the randomness that the WHO comes up with, it makes no sense. every person I have talked to here in Texas that has had the flu, received the vaccine! handwashing & masks, avoiding crowded places are your best defense.
