Trip Down Memory Lane
CDs/DVs! These things are practically ancient relics and ready to join the floppy disks. Doing a little bit of spring cleaning in the garage and found a box of old CDs/DVDs. This was certainly a trip down memory lane as the mix contained old games, burned cd, hardware drivers, music, and various backups.
Amazing to think that this technology was huge just 20 years ago and is currently being replaced by USBs, internet, or online streaming.
Definitely a good thing in my opinion. Considering that these things are made of plastics and hardly recycled, they're certainly adding to the waste that we're creating. On top of that, there's the packaging that they come in.
Plastic, just recycle it!
It's not that easy apparently. According to http://www.cdrecyclingcenter.org/ , most curbside recycling programs do not process/recycle CDs and they end up in the trash. Supposedly places like target and BestBuy have dropoff bins, I'll certainly have to check that out or wait for the e-waste collection to come around.
