Happy New Year 🍾🥂 2024 is going to be the best year for us all. 🍾 🥂 🎉

That's Christmas done for another year, now on to the New Year. This New Years eve is going to be so different for me. After having a lovely busy Christmas New Years eve is going to be really quiet, just me and hubby for the first time in 31 years. I had all my family here for Christmas so New Years my girls are spending either at there own home or spending it with there partners family, plus no Geordie. Geordie die on 13th December, he is a big miss, my house doesn't feel the same, I'm not the same since losing him.

Its been a hectic few weeks, losing Geordie was bad enough but we had hubby recovering after his hip replacement. His operation was 2 weeks ago, they had him up out of bed straight away walking with a zimmer frame then home the next day with 2 walking sticks. He is now walking without any aid, he has to keep the sticks incase he needs a little help. He does have a lovely scar.

Hes not sure if he wavy to go through it again though with his other hip and knees, its something he needs to think about as it's not easy, he hasn't had a full night's sleep since his operation as he's has to stay lying on his back to sleep where he usually sleeps on his side, he has another 4 weeks before he can turn over in bed. I'm ready for the scrap heap, I'm having to do so much more to keep on top of things. I do what I can to help out, in doing a lot more than I used to sadly I can't keep it up, my body hurts like mad, My knees feel like jelly and the pain is so bad. I darent say anything as hubby will want to do more.

I'm looking forward to it being just me and hubby seeing the New Year in, I'll probably be in bed around 9 as can't stay up anymore, I will try and stay awake to watch Big Ben strike 12. I may need a nap in the afternoon to help. I'm busy laughing at myself for writing that, when did I get so old.

I have been out shopping today with hubby and his mum, we have bought enough food to last for a few days that means I can resr for a few days. My youngest daughter Nichola is off on holiday for a week so age can help her dad whilst I sleep and get some real rest. Nichola has taken all the Christmas decorations down and is going to give the house a hoovering. She is going to her partners parents house for New Year.

This year has flown over 2024 has come round far too quickly. I'm hoping this year is going to be a good year, think Ive asked for a good year for years, still no luck. I have made a New Years resolution every year I test myself to loose weight but every year I let myself down, this year is going to be different as I was diagnosed Diabetic this year, I've been on a diet for 9 weeks. Usually I lost a lot but this time I have been taking it slowly as in the past I loose quickly then put it back on plus more even quicker, not this year, I've lost 91/2lbs and feel better for it, I still have a way to go but know 2024 is going to be my last year I diet, I intend to get down as far as possibly to put the Diabetes into remission.
