Its Thursday and still busy getting our new doors and windows fitted, they are all installed but still need handles, trims and cleaning. We have had to call on a Sky engineer to fix the wire the window fitter cut whilst fitting our back door, it wasn't his fault it was all down to hubby who said the wire is dead, he didn't realise it was the phone wire that connects the Internet. Thankfully the engineer is booked for the same day, he's here now reconnecting us.

We have sorted out the problem with the peak cladding, lack of communication and basically ignoring my phonecalls and emails the manager eventually got back in touch, we have to pay another 3 grand for the cladding, that will be covered by the house insurance claim for the wind damage. We have signed the contract maybe a little to quickly as the window fitter knows someone who installs cladding and cleans it so we are waiting for a price for him, we have a 7 days cancelling clause on the cladding, fingers crossed we get a better deal. Yay just had a phone call from the window fitter who has had a chat with his mate who does cladding, he has quoted a much better price so cancelling with Anglian and going with the this new firm plus they said they will clean the cladding too.

Its been a manic week with early mornings, problems with the window installation, having no curtains up,
and cutting wires disconnecting us from the Internet. I will be glad when it's all finished and I can get my house back without strangers coming and going. I have to keep reminding myself about the open windows when I'm getting changed, last thing I want is to scare anyone.

We have had some good luck, the first window fitter that came on Monday and stayed with us each day has been amazing, he's made sure everything is perfect, sorted all the problems out without moaning and gone that extra mile to make sure the house is left the same way they found it by replacing cladding on the Kitchen and making a windowsill on the kitchen window. Hubby is really happy with him as he's a really good golfer so hubby has a brand new friend to play Golf with, hubby won't be winning anymore this lad has a really good golf handicap.

The fitting is done apart from a little few teaks which the fitter fair he would come back and do, we gave him some extra money to say thank you for all he has done, he's young lad with a young family, we remember those days. He text to say thank you, he said it was an absolute pleasure to work for us, I thought that was really lovely of him. There are some decent people out there, let's hope it's catching.

We are both over the moon with our new windows and doors, the dude door has made a massive difference with the light, our last door had a small window our new door has a lovely big frosted window that brings so much more light into the house. Now we have the house done with new windows and doors the house should stay a lot warmer as there are no nasty draughts.

The fitter has gone, me and hubby have checked the work and passed it, I've phoned to pay it in full. That's another big job done the next is the cladding then we have to save got a new kitchen. I want the house sorted now hubby is on the sick with having his hip replaced plus he's getting his knee looked at in 6 months, that will need replacing too then his other knee and hip need looking at, he's off work for quite a while.

Thank you for visiting πŸ’ŸπŸ’Ÿ
