I have been waiting for news about my new windows and doors, the surveyor has been the supplication has been passed but no word about the start date... until today, at last an email lands with the instructions on when, They will start fitting on the 2nd of February, the whole process will take around 3 days then we get to check over there work and make sure everything is finished to a high standard before paying. I am dreading the installation with it being in Winter and in sure we have been forecasted snow.
We have been planning a few upgrades to our house hoping we can get then done before me and hubby retire. We have three bedrooms two are used, with the smallest bedding used as a storage room. We have discussed different uses for the room, we have decided on a book/tv room for Nichola, she has loads of books and spends hours reading. She has quite a few floating shelfs on her walls that holds full sets of books, she doesn't have enough wall space for the amount of books she has plus don't think she will be leaving any time soon as its to expensive for her to have her own place. Nick is happy.
Having new Windows and doors is going to save us on the heating as the seals have gone letting the heat escape. We really should have had it installed in the Summer but then again the price would have been a lot higher, I think we were offered a good deal due them not having enough work on over the Winter. We were suprised when the boss phoned us with an offer we couldn't refuse even the surveyor was shocked when I showed the Surveyor the boss had sent me about what I had accepted.
Its all go now too get my house sorted. We thought we would have afew years yet but last year didn't end well. Hubby had a hip replacement plus he was made redundant. He has to recover from his hip replacement then has to have another hip replaced plus both knees so think he has retired. Its weird having him around all day when I usually have the whole day to myself.
We have a few weeks for us to get the gardens sorted before they start putting tgr scaffolding up. My dye garden is in a right state, I haven't been able to get out plus the strong winds have blown so much around. I'm going to have to get Nichola involved plus her new boyfriend, I may have to blackmail him with some home made mince and dumplings, that usually works. Now hubby is laid up and pretty useless around the house is good to have a fit young man to keep things moving.
