Balanced Rock Trailhead Hike (Moab, Utah)

in #life7 years ago

This "hike" was silly easy, And the rock could be seen from a car if you wanted to avoid walking over. But of course, we got out and walked over to see it.
It gave you a slightly uneasy feeling when you approached the rock. Like it would fall over at any second!
The pictures don't do it justice on how big it is! It was HUGE!

See? Little On The Map!

Sort:

Yeah it seems that it can fall at any second but these massive red rocks are very strong. Enjoy the tracking

Well it looks really huge in the picture!

And I can really imagine the uneasiness seeing that rock up close can cause to a person.

Perhaps one day thanks to erosion that rock will end up falling, but I guess for now its cool to take pics next to it.

You didn't take a picture including a person to see the size with a little bit of perspective?

Aww right?
Eventually it will fall. And that will be sad! I was going to take a photo but I got too camera shy.

Noooo don't get too close or you may get crushed! XD
Kidding, pretty cool to have a balancing rock, I can't go for any walks atm as I am sick so have to get better. :(

LOLLLLLL Right? It was way cool!!

Awww ;( Get better so you can go walking!!

Aww thanks love :)
Got some medicine now so a few days with that and I will hopefully be good soon! :)

Right? I want to see everything!

It seems quite tall and looked a bit like clay from afar off you know, however it's seems like quite an experience,
Never seen or went anywhere one of these in a long while.
Amazing journey

Oh! I wouldn't dare go close to it! Lol!

It looks like it will fall anytime soon.

I’m sure an extreme sport junkie would love to climb that!

Right? That would be funny, but probably bad if it were to fall.

Yeah, but that won’t stop crazy people from trying!

@kaylinart, You're absolutely fashionable art. Keep balance rock design incredible. With closely click totally weird little bit coz maybe fall down very few seconds. So harder hiking experience under the sunny condition. Not a easy task. But enjoy your self.

The pictures look amazing! I've been telling myself for years that I need to visit out west and see those areas! I bet it's super hot though.

Great Post!
I visited there when I was younger and loved it.
When I was there a older goofy grandpa kinda guy was there talking to me and my dad about balanced rock. He then made a joke saying he stood under that rock for 10 years waiting for it to fall and the day he left it fell. Kinda corny joke but that memory stuck in my head with that visit. I can’t wait to visit out there again all the arches are amazing as well. Steem on :)

Hello I really like your post, hope you keep posting other interesting things.
