Back about 50 years ago when I was a kid I was riding my bicycle past a person tearing down a barn. I stopped and asked them what it they going to do with all those boards he was tearing off the bar. He said I am just going to throw them away. I asked the man if I could have some of the boards to build a hut and he said yes. I lived about a half a mile away from there. I spent the rest of the day on my bicycle carrying boards back of it to my home.
The next day I got up and started building my hut. I use the old boards to build three sides and a roof of my hut. After a few days I had finished the hut and used a blanket for the door on the fourth side. It was just kind of crude hut made out of old barn boards with a dirt floor, but I build it. I wish I would've taken a picture of it but I never did. So I can show you a picture of my hut.
Today I seen this YouTube link
about a 13-year-old built a small house. I went and took a look at it as I was interested in seeing how we did. With the Internet and all of the videos and information available. This boy built a nice little home that I couldn't even dream of when I was a little kid. But the young kids today are learning on computers and from the Internet. Who knows what these kids will be able to do when they grow up with all that information.I have seen a lot of things that kids are doing today. They make me feel like the things I did when I was a kid were just simple things. But then I realized I didn't have all the information that they have at their fingertips. It makes me wonder what I would have been able to do when I was a kid if I would've had all that information. Just a thought.
