The pain in my foot has been there for months now and has steadily gotten worse. I finally decided I needed to get it checked out and after an x-ray I now know I have a heel spur.
My Poor Foot After an X-ray
Some mornings I wake up and can barely walk on my foot. It takes a while for the pain to decrease. There are days I feel pain all day long. I've taken to wrapping my foot in a bandage on those days because the compression allows me to walk.
I bought a heated blanket and by turning the heat on and wrapping my foot in it, the pain decreases. I look forward to cold weather so I can justify using it all the time.
I'm not functioning very well these days. I have a hard time moving around the house, taking care of my 4 year old, or taking care of all our animals.
I know I'll have to visit a specialist but I hate doctors so I've been putting it off. Both my parents had heel spurs so I know all they'll tell me to do is stretches and home therapy treatments. They'll tell me to wear shoes that will help it and maybe sleep in a special boot to hold my foot in a certain position.
I've been trying to lose weight. It's hard because I can't exercise. I've been eating 500 to 700 calories a day. I've been eating lots of boiled egg whites, turkey sausage, cheese, and other low calorie or low carb foods. Snacks are bites of thick cut pepperonis or a spoonful of ricotta cheese. I've been avoiding bread, potatoes, and grains. Mainly I've been eating proteins like chicken.
A whole chicken is $6 and I'll bake that up with some veggies. I do have to admit I'm not confident I can stick to my current diet because I'm already bored with it. It's at least help me detox and get into the mindset to diet.
Fall has arrived here so at least there is a nice view from the couch on the porch
But yeah...that's life. I'm not moving around very well and stuck at home a lot in a sitting position. At least I'm getting some writing done.
I hope you feel better soon, Doc. :) I know those diets are vicious. I went low carb and lost weight, but wasnt sure if it was worth giving up my fave drug: carbs.
