Hi everybody. Today I'd like to talk about a important topic which not too much people doesn't know, it is the Borderline Personality Disorder (abreviated: BPD).
This disorder is characterized for constantly unstable emotions, insecurity, irritability, dificulties on social relationships, people with BPD show symptoms of anxiety, guilt, rage, feeling loneliness and sadness. This people use to have a negative view of themselves or in the opposite case come to be narcissists. It is believed that BPD is caused by psychological trauma or genetic factors.
Now I would like to go deeper on BPD related symptoms:
Fear of abandonment.
People with BDP often feel anxiety or fear with the idea of being alone or be abandoned even when there is no real reasons to feel that way. This fear could drive the person to make impulsive decisions to avoid abandonment.
Lack of identity.
People with BDP they usually have abrupt changes in how they perceive themselves, this can lead to a series of drastic changes in their lives, without a clear sense of who they are or where they are going.
Anger.
Uncontrolled anger and quick lost of patience. Not all people with BPD are aggressive, but in their struggle to face their anger they could have some aggressive behavior and this could cause problems with their fre
All or nothing.
People with BPD tend to go to extremes in their social relationships and see the other person as "totally good" or "totally bad". They can come to share most of their time and what they are with others, but later they could feel that the other person doesn't care enough about it, causing an unstable relationship.
Impulsivity.
Impulsive behavior, driving people with BDP to make hasty choices to end feeling great regret if them result ot be bad. Also, they act impulsively to alleviate the constant anguish, taking them in the worst cases to the abuse of drugs and alcohol.
Arrived at this point I'd like to make mention of one of the most severes symptoms to me, and this is the suicidal behavior such self-inflict harm to relieve their emotional distress, also have recurring suicidal thoughts.
This post comes to be significant to me, I managed to expland only some of the main symptoms and my mayor reason to write this is to create awareness. ¿Do you think any friend, family or even your partner have BDP? If that the case, be patient and try to help it the more you can. It is important to let them know that they aren't alone in this world and count with other's love and support.
Thanks for reading!
