Being people who love getting outdoors, Vegas doesn't have the opportunities to do things outside like some of the other places we've lived like Flagstaff, AZ or Anchorage. Nevertheless, there are ways to enjoy nature around Sin City if you know where to look.
One place that Isabella loves is Red Spring, near Red Rock State Park.
Red Spring has a 0.55-mile boardwalk that circles a meadow fed by a small spring. It's rare to find such a landscape in the desert and it feels like a little oasis.
We arrived just before sunrise. Summer in Vegas is also not the best time for walking your dog as it's way too hot during most of the day so we stick to early morning walks which is just fine by Isabella.
The other benefits of going early is that you get treated to a beautiful sunrise the golden morning light.
Not too shabby.
When you're tired of walking around and checking out the abundance of wildlife that Red Spring has to offer you can always have fun taking pictures of your dog.
I live in Vegas and there are indeed some beautiful places to see...when we are not baking from the heat that is lol :)
Right! The heat here is intense. Red springs is a nice get away if you go early in the morning between 5: 30 and 6:30
I will absolutely have to go check it out!! :)
