I liked the poem and the criticism in it, agree on what you said about the quality content and the different tastes that people has but I've always been against a total relativism about what is bad or good. For example there are posts that are obviously bad such as the spams that do "economic" analysis of copy paste or the typical post about Hive without any deph on it. That's for me objectively bad content.
It happens also on literature, movies or tv, we can disagree about what is better or worst but there are always some parameters in which one could say this is a shit and agree with most of the people.
If we couldn't do that if the criticism would be impossible because always depends of oneselfs tastes then nobody could have a real criteria.
Anyways is my particular vision of things I'm aware of that and can also be very unpopular.
See how I tossed in the word 'genuine'? I don't even consider spam to be content and of course it shouldn't be around. I don't consider incredibly low effort content to be a genuine effort. A shit post can exist but I won't be rewarding it. I won't be looking at it either.
I have no use for a makeup tutorial but if I see someone attracting consumers, that's a win for me as well. All the things I don't like, provided they're genuine efforts and attracting eyes benefit me indirectly. If I go to Youtube to listen to music and end up watching Joe Rogan, Joe can thank the music for that, even if he hates the songs.
Of course there's junk but I did say a neighbor isn't a good neighbor if they're out taking a shit on the street.
Lol you caught me on that, very well argumented 😄. My examples weren't too precisely targeted maybe but in the movies, tv and literature there is also very genuine trash objectively speaking. And I'll put you another example if someone would come here and say: "I don't like your posts because are wall texts" I probably would respond like the dude "Well is your opinion man" but if the same person says that this post is trash then I would affirm without a doubt that he doesn't know a shit about blogging or literature 😉.
Walls are damn near impossible to read. If you're serving food, do you just slop it all together and tell your customer to eat it or get out! LOL! I can be fussy when it comes to formatting. At the same time I've been given shit for the way I format posts. Sometimes I just like to be artistic, and not everyone gets it. Oh well. It's for the people who do get it anyway.
There is a criteria for that, it is called culture. And many people agree on that what you do is good for a simple reason, because is true. Not everything is relative, of course there are greys, not only black and white.

When it comes to that black or white, left or right, up or down, coke or pepsi shit... I always tell people to extend their arms out to their sides as far as you can reach. Look at your hands. Left or right. Only two options? What about that thing in the middle you can't see. Why not use that?
