As we all know, we as human beings have many feelings and emotions to act out with different stimuli that are presented to us in life. There are feelings and emotions positive and some negative. When I speak of the negative feelings should make it clear that at some point in our lives we have felt it, which is normal. The bad thing is when we don't control them and practically become the center of our thoughts and heart, one of those feelings is the envy.
Envy is the feeling of pain, rage and unhappiness by not possessing another person that has. Not only is envy material goods, also will envy the talent, beauty, friendship, love among others. You can envy the tangible and intangible things.
And is that envy is so dangerous that the Catholic Church lists it as a sin capital since it can induce to commit through it they can commit other sins.
According to the Christian religion, the first murder that occurs by the seduction of envy, was the murder of Abel by his brother Cain hands, both sons of Adam and Eve. These brothers gave offerings to God, but Cain became envious of Abel because grade God more the offering of Abel.

The envy has been the protagonists give them many misfortunes. Gandhi felt envy as feeling more ruin that I could feel the human being, and I agree with him, and this I say this because the envy brings the worst of you, takes you to hate, to wish evil on the other, takes you to lie to betray even to kill. Envy wilt you heart, brings you the soul to the shadows.
There are people who say that there is good envy, that you get the same thing that that person has. For my envy is not good even in that.
I've known people envious, usually unsuccessful and as they cannot leave the abyss where are wishing you evil. Thank God I learned to recognize it in the following way:

The envious is happy for the failure of others.
Discourage their pessimism.
You criticized in public, it will never make a constructive criticism.
Talk to other people behind your back.
Never are when you need them.
It is intruded, lives by exploring the lives of others only to find the flaws, not to help.
I am not really happy by your achievements and triumphs, congratulates you with their most hypocritical smile.
But why waste time in a feeling that mutilates you soul? Why live embittered and unhappy envying others? It works in your happiness, your well-being. Live the life! Take as an example to people who are just your inspiration to succeed, to achieve your dreams and goals. Value yourself as a person, do not feel inferior to anyone. In this life all we come to learn, choose what you you will grow spiritually. If you want a beautiful family, looking for a couple who also have those plans, promotes values in your children and you will see that your family will be beautiful and you will not have to envy.
You do not envidies, working very hard to achieve the economic goods, share with friends, not only in the good, but in the bad moments. Strives for excellence, but by your self-improvement, not compete. Remember that each who is different and why we are unique, and therefore some Excel in one area more than another. Discover your potential and exploit them. You do not destroy with envy, while others are happy, are you also happy.
