I used to take sleep of 8-9 hours and due to the workload, I am not able to sleep properly. I am hardly getting 4-5 hours and half of the month has passed this way. I have some tasks at hand and some or of daily nature, I am struggling hard complete all of them so that I can sleep with ease. My mind keeps pushing me to stay on the desk while I don't think that I am being productive.
I have built a habit of writing this blog rather I am able to cover my tasks or not. Another way to see this is that I think that writing a blog or post or steemit is my task. If I don't write my mind gives me the notification that this task is pending. I try to complete this start as my day starts and this way I feel easy. I would like to mention here that I am being addicted to the model of steemit i.e. social platform, sharing thoughts, getting feedback, reply comments, getting rewards and badges, etc.

All this is good, what's worse is that I am feeling sleepy all the time when I am on work and I cannot sleep thinking about the tasks that I have at hand. Yesterday I was not feeling well, my body was giving signals of rest. Each side of the body was aching and asking me to go to bed. I decided to take rest but due to multiple home responsibilities, I had to wake up twice. Though now I am feeling better after sleeping 1 hour more than a daily dose of sleep but not feeling the energy that I feel normal in my body.
I was reading an article on sleep deprivation and found the following points:
- Cause of Accidents
- Makes You Forgetful
- Low Performance
- Serious Health Problems
- Ages You Quickly

I need to relax and think about it what price I am going to pay for it. It should be a beneficial one as compared to losing sleep. I don't think that I can compare the loss that I am getting or going to get with the profits of the tasks that I am going to achieve finally by taking less sleep.
My suggestion for you too is that if you are in the same situation and facing difficulties leaves your tasks but leaving your sleep, please switch now and enjoy better performance, beautiful skin, good health plus good memory. I have tried my best to share my position with you and why I think that you should go with this solution. Rest depends on you, in the end, it is on one's choice as all of us free to choose what to do with our lives.
Sleep is the most important requirement for recovery and regeneration. You age faster without it! Currently frequency specific magnetic fields have been found to amazing brainwave entrainment effects, allowing us to train the brain to find good sleep and naturally regenerate. Amazing what your doctors won't tell you.
Thanks for the precious info, rest is best for test ;)
Yeah, seriously. While some people will claim you only need 5h or so of sleep, you really need regular meals, exercise, good sleep hygiene, and ~8h of sleep to have a proper healthy life and achieve peak performance.
Poor sleeping will lead to being tired all the time, not getting enough exercise, poor judgements, not eating properly, and lowers your immune system and mental health as well as your physical health. Which will severely shorten your lifespan.
If you are having problems getting into a good "sleep pattern", start out by scheduling it, removing all electronics ~1h before "scheduled sleeping", and maybe even having a "help" to get to sleep. For me, personally, melatonin and ~200mg of 5-HTP with some bread during that last hour before sleep helps me get better restful sleep and feel better in the morning when my sleep cycle is disrupted.
Another thing you should do is invest in some good thick curtains or blackout blinds in your bedroom. I once spent a couple of months not really understanding why my sleep was so poor, turns out it was because sufficient ambient light was getting into my bedroom to trick my brain into thinking it was light out, which completely screws up your circadian rhythms.
What a reply, thanks for sparing time to read this buddy, I am highly obliged.
Removing electronics 1H before sleeping and blackout curtains, I too believe in this and following this. I cannot sleep if there is light in the room and wake up early if I see light in the room in the morning.
I have had many periods of time in Iraq or as a former stay at home mom, I have actually found that there are times where I perform best with 3-5 hours. But then there are these times where my sleeplessness gets too me and I start to make mistakes at work, my fake work smile turns into bitch face. Ive gotten few times where I get 8 interrupted hours of sleep, but when I did I felt reborn.
"my fake work smile turns into bitch face" what a way to express the situation. Good to see that we are having some experiences shared here on this post that are highlighting the importance of this topic.

I’ve come to realize that when I don’t get enough sleep I start to deteriorate. I begin to lack awareness, compassion , and empathy. I get lazy and I don’t think my actions through. So sleep is very important !
That's a clear example of what I have posted above, thanks for sharing your experience :)
I completely agree I wish I could sleep a steady 8 hrs a day every day.
Me too, man... me too.
Congratulations @uio!
