Cuando trabajaba en el diario Hoy Diario del Sur

Prosigo aquí relatando mi experiencia como periodista cultural…
Después de abandonar el diario La Antena, ingresé al semanario de Frank Lozano (HOY Diario del Sur, que luego cambió el nombre a Hoy en Aragua) donde realicé los mismos oficios como redactor y reportero, además de inventarme otra página literaria, llamada Laberinto (1997-1998 y 2009). En parte de ese tiempo hasta me denunció el Colegio de Periodistas como “enemigo público” número uno, aunque ese número también lo repartieron entre el director Frank Lozano y otra redactora de un periódico de la ciudad de La Victoria. En mi defensa escribí y me publicaron una serie de tres artículos, incluido uno con el título Periodismo somos todos. Yo escribía para comer y no para competir o quitarles el trabajo a los periodistas colegiados; para ejercer ese oficio los dueños de esos medios me contrataron y me gustaba lo que hacía, me sentía como “pez en el agua”.

En busca de mejoras salariales, y gracias al amigo y poeta Williams Alberto Hernández, comencé a trabajar como contratado con la Secretaría Sectorial de Cultura de Aragua. Allí trabajé en la Coordinación de Literatura junto a mi amiga poeta Yadira Pérez. Y saben qué, me toco seguir redactando notas de prensa para distintos medios y luego guiones para el programa de televisión Arawak Cultura en marcha, que se producía en la Secretaría de Cultura del estado Aragua, bajo la acertada dirección de la periodista Adriana Gutiérrez, en la gestión de Hernández como secretario de Cultura.

Claro, a lo largo de todo este tiempo también llegué a publicar en otros medios impresos como El Periodiquito, El Aragüeño y hasta en El Siglo, en alguna oportunidad; en el periódico comunitario Zamoranos, en Portavoz de Aragua, revista-periódico de Javier Herrera y otros medios impresos. Además, en revistas como Expresión de Villa de Cura, Huellas de Senderos Literarios y Laberinto de la Fundación Villa Literaria, de la cual fui director-editor.

En resumidas palabras, esta ha sido mi experiencia como periodista empírico y cultural. Ahora escribo más que todo en las redes sociales como facebook, twitter (X) y en mi blog Letra y artes de Zamora y Aragua (villaliteraria2010.blogspot.com), donde hay más información sobre estas lides y otras inquietudes que me han llevado hasta donde estoy y lo que soy. Esto es solo una faceta de mi historia para la comunidad virtual de Hive. Me faltaría escribir sobre mi experiencia como vendedor, empleado bancario y predicador, entre otras.

When I worked at the weekly Hoy Diario del Sur (Today South Newspaper)

My experience as an empirical and cultural journalist (part 2)

I continue here recounting my experience as a cultural journalist…
After leaving the newspaper La Antena, I joined Frank Lozano's weekly newspaper (HOY Diario del Sur which later changed its name to Hoy en Aragua) Where I performed the same jobs as editor and reporter in addition to inventing another literary page called Laberinto (1997-1998 & 2009). At a certain point in that time The Association of Journalists referred to me as the top public enemy, even though that issue was distributed between the director Frank Lozano and another editor of a newspaper in the city of La Victoria. To defend myself, I wrote and published a series of three articles, one of which was entitled 'Journalism is all of us.' My intent was to eat, not to compete or steal jobs from collegiate journalists; I was hired by the owners of those media outlets to carry out that job. I enjoyed my work. I felt comfortable.

Pursuing a higher salary, and thanks to my friend and poet Williams Alberto Hernández, I began to work as a contract worker with the Sectorial Secretariat of Culture of Aragua. There I worked in the Literature Coordination with my poet friend Yadira Pérez. And you know? I also have to keep writing press releases for various media outlets and then scripts for the television program Arawak Cultura en marcha, which was produced in the Secretary of Culture of the state of Aragua, under the successful direction of the journalist Adriana Gutiérrez, in the Hernández's management as Secretary of Culture.

Of course, throughout all this time I also published in other printed media such as El Periodiquito, El Aragüeño and even in El Siglo, on some occasions; in the Zamoranos newspaper, in Portavoz de Aragua, a magazine-newspaper by Javier Herrera and other printed media. As well, in magazines such as Expresión de Villa de Cura, Huellas de Senderos Literarios and Laberinto of the Fundación Villa Literaria, of which I was director-editor.

In short, this has been my experience as an empirical and cultural journalist. Now I write mostly on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter (X) and on my blog Letra y artes de Zamora y Aragua (villaliteraria2010.blogspot.com), where there is more information about these issues and other concerns that have led me to where I am and who I am. This is just one facet of my story for the Hive virtual community. I would need to write about my experience as a salesman, bank employee and preacher, among others.
