So I went to a London Steem Community Meetup. Wzięłem i poszłem na Steemitową Schadzkę w Londku Zdroju. [PL/EN]

I'm sitting here, eating yet another doughnut, listening to André Rieu and thinking about yesterday's evening. Siedzę tu, jem kolejnego pączka, słucham André Rieu i myślę o wczorajszym wieczorze.

For those who don't know, it's Fat Thursday today. This is what we celebrate in Poland before the Ash Wednesday and Lent, and we do it well. Doughnuts for everyone! I followed my Grandomother's recipe.

Yesterday I baked rye bread and took it to Whole Foods Market where I met some very nice People of Steem.

I was wondering how much bread to bring. I decided to make three loaves which gave six halves. I like sharing, but too much bread can be a problematic gift (try carrying ten kilograms of it). But yeah, that's what I do, I share bread.

I enjoyed everyone's company, heard many stories and reassured myself in what I consider the value of Steem blockchain. The true value of it are not tokens, it's the people. I remember I decided to start an account to perhaps get to know the technology behind it. Eighteen months on I hardly learned anything about it, but it's still the people that draw me to the platform (yes, I mean you).

We are so different from each other, we come from so many different backgrounds. Some have just moved in, some just visited London for the meetup, some have been born here. Some work, some look for work, for some Steem is work. What we share is curiosity and respect for each other.

We talked about different things, some have just hit 100K SP, some are looking for a car, some sell lighting solutions, a couple work in IT, some act, most of us create something. We talked about everything. What a pleasant evening.

Thank you for your time and see you soon. And thank you @redrica for organising the party!

Wszyscy zaś mamy w sobie ciekawość i wzajemny szacunek do siebie.

Rozmawialiśmy o najróżniejszych tematach. Ktoś właśnie dobił do 100 tysięcy SP, ktoś szuka auta, ktoś sprzedaje rozwiązania oświetleniowe, ktoś pracuje w IT, ktoś jest aktorem, większość z nas coś tworzy.

Do zobaczenia wkrótce!

I saw you in the picture that @nanzo-scoop posted!

I'm glad we got to meet even though it was short! I love connecting with Steemians and indeed it's the thing that keeps you coming back. Exactly why meet-ups are soooo much fun :D

Thanks for sharing your bread, I really loved it toasted with Avocado :D Cheers and maybe we'll meet again!

The people on Steem are a big part of it for me. The money is a bonus, but I don't see me living off that any time soon, so it has to be fun for me to stick around. Events like this are great as you get to see who is behind the posts. Hope to meet up again soon and the bread was delicious.

Yay.. Breadman did not fail to deliver and even though I did take any of it for myself it did look delish, which is what we can expect from someone who really knows his bread. Not only that but talking tech was always a pleasure and never fails to disappoint.

Thanks for being part of a great evening and hope we can catch up again sometime.

This post has been included in the latest edition of SoS Daily News - a digest of all you need to know about the State of Steem.

Nice to meet you. I much enjoyed our chat on the way home :)

Likewise, sure hope we'll get a chance to chat even more in the future :)

I envy you! It's the advantage to be in a big city. There are few Steemit users in Leipzig ... ;) And it's super that you brought your bread +++++++

You'll get to one of those one day, I'm sure :)

Bread was fucking amazing, all eaten before I got home, cheers mate, great to meet you, have a great weekend !

Glad to hear it. I would like to prepare something special for the next time :)

I did not know that you baked it) when you share it)

I didn't communicate that clearly enough. Next time :)
