The form of love Filia (Greek φιλία) - "friendship" or "love".
In Greek, this word means not only "friendship", but also "friendliness", "location", "attraction", "attraction" and "love."
For example, the expression of the child's love for the mother is "philomator" - (φιλομάτωρ), and the love for the father "philopator" is (φιλοπάτωρ), which means both attachment, attraction and love, the same is meant when expressing the parent's love for children "philopes" "(φιλοπαίσ).
However, "brotherly love" or "love of brother" - "Philadelphia" (φιλαδελφία) means "friendship", in the meaning of which is invested - a friendly disposition and attraction. By attraction is meant one-sidedness and devotion to one's goals, values and principles, and the word "brother" does not mean a kinship.
By the way, the city of Philadelphia, that in Pennsylvania, literally means "the city of brotherly love", which was founded by the settlers of the Protestant community of "Quakers".
But, we are not talking about history, but about LOVE.
Under the word Philia, the philosophers of ancient Greece understood spiritual love-friendship, in which there is no hot love of Eros, nor the self-sacrifice of Agape's love.
There is an opinion that Plato "considered" Philius the highest form of love, which later was called "Platonic" - however, I personally doubt this statement.
In my opinion, Plato could not so argue, and even more so, consider it the highest form of love, because "philia" is the essence of unanimity, the division of views, goals and values, and it is closer to the model of alliance, which by the way can have a rather aggressive character, rather than to the model of creation, which is the very essence of love. Therefore, I consider this definition not correct.
But Aristotle has arguments about Philia, which he regards as "the most necessary thing for life, which is even higher than justice" - and with this statement (again, this is my personal opinion, which I do not want to impose), I completely agree.
If you look at the form of love "Philia", as a manifestation of friendship, then Aristotle is absolutely right in his reasoning, since. without the ability to be friends, honestly and faithfully, forgiving his friend for his mistakes and weaknesses, accepting him as it is and appreciating his strengths - without this skill it is impossible to build absolutely anything in life.
Summary
Philia is a form of love that manifests itself as a friendship built on common thoughts, first and foremost, and only then can it grow into something more, forming a new symbiotic form in a fusion with other forms of love. However, she herself is a more mature form of love than passionate Eros or poetic Agape.
