The thing about marrying a fellow home buddy like yourself is that you both don't know what to do with yourselves outside the house. So I got married to my wife on the 27th of December and we decided to have our honeymoon in the first week of the day. Most of that entailed staying at home and playing wordfeud.
My wife planned to take us to the beach, and for the bad husband I am (who did not have anything planned), I decided to take her to the movies. Ideally, I wanted to take her to Ghana for bacation but January is very tight for us, so I am moving the bacation to our anniversary this year.
So our honeymoon started with gifts. My very wonderful and thoughtful got me wonderful gifts, which include this bespoke crochet shirt she made (check out her posts where she talks about me). I unfortunately took another L by not taking anything. I did not know wedding gifts were a thing. You can imagine the look on my face when I saw how she went all out for me. I thought I was the thoughtful one in this marriage but my wife is winning flawless. I have to redeem myself on Valentine's Day.
So we went to see the movies on Wednesday but the cinema was full. We couldn't get tickets. Knowing our anniversary falls during the holiday season, I would be making plans months ahead so we have the best possible experience. Planning things last minute never works during this period. I have learnt a hard lesson.
Fortunately, our beach plans weren't interrupted. Yes, there were many people on the beach but it was a fun and relaxing time for both. We got to have fun and take pictures. The most important thing is that I got to spend time with my wife.
Still hungover from our honeymoon. I just want to lazy around with my baby but we have to work now and make the best out of the year. Nevertheless, this is only the perk of the iceberg. We will be having many fun moments together and it is something I am going to be intentional about. This is going to be part of our family's culture.
