My heart aches for the women who are feeling lonely or are in the process of a break-up. I am going to encourage you to really feel into the lonely space. Allow yourself to grieve the loss of the relationship. Its hard, painful, healthy and so very important.
When we let someone go we are left with an empty space in our hearts, our life, our day to day activities. Our tendency is to do whatever it takes to fill up the space. Wine, shopping, another man, dating, casual sex, all look pretty attractive when we're feeling abandoned, rejected, defeated and alone.
Allow this space to be. Don't judge it, close it up, or run away from it.
It's ok to feel lonely, sad, even really angry that you had to let him go. It's not easy when things come to an end. Even when we know we deserved better.
You are creating space for something better. Hold onto this truth as you allow the pain and loss to move through you. Give yourself time to process and reflect. What did you learn? What did you like? What will you do differently next time?
Take some time to look at your patterns and what you need to change.
Growth comes from allowing ourselves to feel, facing our fears and doing what's hard.
Do something special for yourself today. You deserve it.
