Luck is a decision, at least sometimes

in #luck7 years ago (edited)

Recently I feel very lucky, my small crypto invest became a small fortune, I found a good student job, I've a happy relationship and my master degree is finished soon. Besides I make some money with a small online business.

Still there is thing, that not going out of my mind. Since I've told a few friends that I will invest in crypto, they now know all about my latest gains and I've the feeling that this somehow changed my relationship to some of them.

Some are very excited and want to know how I did it, but some seem to begrudge my latest succeeds or changed their expectations about my behavior.

Because I am not buying fancy new stuff, they think that I don't value the money in terms of spending it. They all have ideas what I could do with the money "Buy a new car", "Travel around the world", "insert wish here" and talk about it like it is a lotto jackpot even if its not close to it. In their perception a holy force is giving me money.

I always wanted to grow with my friends, but at some point I realized that many of them are not allowing themselves to think big, to risk anything or persist on an difficult talk. They all want time and money, but they are not willing to make a step forward in an unknown direction.

At some point in my life I started education myself in order to fulfill my dreams. When I was at home I spent hours reading about cryptocurrencys, online advertising, marketing, web hosting, while my friends were netflixing, playing games and hanging out with each other. I did this stuff too, but I never forgot what I want to achieve.

Therefore I came to the idea, that luck is something that comes to people who look for opportunity. Sure there is some "luck" which we can't control but my point is that there is a lot of luck which we can control indirectly.

How you decide for luck:

  1. visualize your dreams
Only if you have an idea what you want to achieve, you can be successful.

  2. Let your subconscious work
If you keep thinking about something your subconscious will help you to find the answer. Don't force it.

  3. Educate yourself
Always wanted to start you own business? Start learning about it, by following news, and keeping interested in the desired field. Only if you keep education yourself you can recognize new opportunities.

  4. Stop wasting your time.
Many people are talented but most people simply waste their time by gathering only unimportant information and doing nothing productive. Be different and use your time for things which might be valuable in the long term.

  5. Just do it / be active
If you know what you want to achieve, just do it, don't think about why it might not work. The problem of many people is that they never become active. If you educated yourself and see an opportunity start directly, otherwise it's just another idea!
