I think the whales who bought in at the starting price and who hold a large percentage of the shares control the individual coin/token price. They are the ones who manipulate the price in order to cash in on people who get scared when the price falls. News causes a pump in the price because more people are investing but when there is no news people start freaking out and selling, taking a loss, which is playing right into the whales hands.
