Day four of MegaCon was Sunday a week ago. It is not as busy as Saturday but probably still busier than all of the other days. At least until later in the afternoon. This was also Super Bowl Sunday but I'm not sure if that really had any impact.
Sunday ended up being a pretty leisurely day for me for a MegaCon which also means not many photos. I only went to one panel. I had planned to go to one or two others but everybody was tired and a couple members of the family were starting to feel a bit under the weather. I also wanted to get home before kickoff but it ended up not really being worth it, lol.
The one panel we did go to was "MEET THE WEASLEY FAMILY" which included Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), James Phelps (Fred Weasley, and Oliver Phelps (George Weasley). It was a fun panel overall and one any Harry Potter fan would have enjoyed.
The two panels I ended up skipping were "STRIKE HARD: COBRA KAI" which featured much of the cast from Kobra Kai. However, I had seen a Kobra Kai panel in a past MegaCon and Ralph Macchio wasn't there this time so I didn't feel too bad letting this one go.
The other one I skipped was "HOUSE OF THE DRAGON: MEET MATT SMITH AND FABIEN FRANKEL". I haven't watched any of House of the Dragon yet but I would have liked to have seen Matt Smith whom I know mostly from Doctor Who. I am not familiar with Fabien Frankel.
Not going to these panels did mean we got to spend some more time in the vendor area. I didn't really buy much else (just a shirt for my youngest daughter and some Harley Quinn themed raspberry flavored coffee) but it was nice to have a more leisurely look around. Eventually I will get around to posting videos but like I've said before, I'm literally years behind. I think most recently I've been posting some videos from 2012.
Overall, I thought MegaCon 2025 was not as good as 2024. Part of the problem was it was in the North/South building as opposed to the East/West. This doesn't mean much if you have never been to the Orange County Convention Center but the East/West building has a lot more room for people to spread out in and just has a better layout in general. The guests weren't quite as good this year either. Last year had the Back to the Future Panel on day one and a panel featuring Ewan MacGregor and Hayden Christenson as well as one featuring Tom Hiddleston among others. To be fair, those panels were harder to get into. This year was still great though and I'm not complaining...just observing. We'll see what next year brings.
Did you try the coffee yet?
I'm not a huge flavored coffee fan but I thought this one was pretty good. I picked up the same flavor a couple of years ago so I knew what I was getting. There was a cinnamon one that I liked also but I didn't see that one this year.
