Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached Saudi Arabia to attend closing ceremony of 'Gulf Shield-1' joint military exercise at the invitation of Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz. The plane carrying the prime minister reached the Dammam King Fahad International Airport on Sunday evening.
The Prime Minister was taken from the airport to Sheraton Hotel. There he welcomed Dammam Governor Saud Bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz. Earlier, the Prime Minister and the tourists departed for Saudi Arabia at a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 4:30 pm. At the VVIP lounge of the airport, the Prime Minister was present for the farewell - a member of the cabinet, the chief of the three services, representatives of the diplomatic mission and senior officials of the Prime Minister's Office.
Today Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the concluding ceremony of 'Gulf Shield -1' joint military exercise in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Bangladesh has participated in this exercise since March 18. After a short visit to Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister will go to London to attend the Commonwealth Summit. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has to return to the country on April 23.
