In the center of Tokyo there is an unusual store where stealing is not punished but actually part of the experience the only golden rule is this do not make any noise.

It’s called TOH a pop-up that blends art suspense and social provocation. As “Customer” you pay 1,000 yen (US$6.60) to enter the shop and you have only one minute to grab whatever you want from the shelves you’ll find books, snacks, clothes and even mattresses but every little sound from a zipper to a falling object means the end of the game for you.

The store is equipped with over 200 hidden microphones ready to detect even the slightest noise as soon as you walk through the door you immediately feel the atmosphere your breathing slows down your movements become calculated and careful it’s like entering a game where your most fearsome opponent is yourself.

Talking laughing or even coughing is not allowed often the only strategy to win is silent collaboration with the other participants it’s not a robbery but a challenge of control intelligence and composure one mistake and the game is over.

This installation is a modern reflection on the boundary between risk and discipline on the value of silence and the irresistible allure of the impossible condensed into sixty seconds of pure adrenaline.
