Welcome to Qurator's Mischievous Mondays!
This will be a weekly competition that we will be hosting every Monday. We want to see a little more engagement and fun when it comes to some of our competitions so this will be a simpler and shorter competition. Easy to enter, but maybe not so easy to win. ;) This competition will be similar to the Monday Missions we had a long time ago, but instead of writing posts to enter we will now consider only the comments and answers on this blog as your entry to win.
Why Mischievous?
We all could use a little fun in our lives. We would even say that we deserve it, let loose a little and have a go at making everyone laugh or think a little, even if it is a little over the top or pure silliness. Go all out and let your creative juices flow.

Congrats to the winners!

It started with a blinking light, one of those we usually ignore, thinking it’s just a loose connection or some power fluctuation. I blinked back, kind of reflexively, and went on with my life. The next day, there was this little road cutting across the corner of the living room rug. I thought it was an optical illusion, or maybe my astigmatism getting worse. But nope: it was there, solid line and all.
Two days later, tiny little cars started circulating, looking like those models from architecture projects - except… moving. I just stood there, frozen, watching a mini truck, the size of a coin, parallel park behind the armchair.
And then he showed up: the mayor. I don’t know how he got in, or from where, but there he was, on the coffee table, carrying a little briefcase and wearing a serious face, ready for business. He said, in the tiniest voice I’ve ever heard, that they wanted to propose a trade deal.
Me - barely managing to pay my own bills - now had a micro-city wanting to make treaties right in my living room. I asked what they wanted in return and, with all the diplomacy in the world, he replied: “Wi-Fi and carpet lint.”
Since then, my routine includes avoiding stepping on the new avenues near the fridge and respecting rush hour at the tiny roundabouts. I haven’t signed the deal yet. I’m waiting to see if they also set up a micro free health system for pets - ‘cause if there’s a little hospital, then we can talk. Hahaha
The light? Still blinking, of course. I think it’s a traffic signal now.
It was Sunday night, insomnia knocked on my door, I woke up countless times, I was bored of staying in bed, I decided to walk around the house a little to see if sleep would return. Out of nowhere, I noticed lights in the closet, I closed my eyes and everything was normal. When I blinked the lights came on again, my mind playing tricks on me, I went back to bed, sleep must be causing hallucinations.
The days went by and I started to hear strange noises around the house, something like knocking, the sounds reminded me of a construction site. My life is busy , I spend the whole day outside the house, it must be something close to home.
The weekend arrived again and I came across something surreal, my jaw only didn't drop to the floor for obvious reasons, I was speechless, there were roads coming out of the closet towards some spaces in the house.
At first glance we thought it was a sign of madness, but my common sense made me go further, I started to observe calmly and was even more surprised, a highway full of cars, tiny humans driving these vehicles. It's that moment when you throw your hands up and run away. I fainted instantly, it was too much information for the moment, my mind couldn't process such a situation.
I don't know how long I was unconscious, but when I regained consciousness I found myself face to face with a human the size of a 50 cent coin saying: "Hello dear owner, my city is expanding into your territory, I would like to propose a commercial agreement, we can pay to occupy your land, in exchange, we want a room, access to electricity, free Wi-Fi and a water source." I literally stood paralyzed, looking into his eyes in disbelief. Finally, the reality check happened, there was nothing I could do, the contract was successfully signed.
My life is no longer normal, I have thousands of tenants living in the room next door, there are lights flashing, noises at set times and something to hide from the world. I live normally, but at any moment I will stop working. The gold nuggets they pay me weekly are valuable, i have already bought my twentieth Bitcoin. These beings will help me achieve financial success.
To this day I ask myself: where did they come from? How did they get here? Where do they get so much gold in such a tiny size? Unfortunately, these are unanswered questions. The contract prevents my curiosity from moving forward.
I lay in bed trying to sleep but it was just impossible and difficult because my mind was clouded with a certain sadness that washed over me again and again. The air in the room feels heavy that I just want to get out. I need a breath of fresh air I whispered to myself. Stood up immediately and went straight to my closet to find something to wear but for some reason everything there felt off. I was about to give up when my gaze fell upon Liam's toys, send chills down my body. I had brought Liam's toys to my room and kept in the closet when hubby was going to throw them away with with hope that it will aid my healing process. This here is like a tiny city in my closet that keeps me warm at night, I feel him closer and the ache in my heart bearable when I see or touch them.
Trading is my second name.
I would listen to their needs and try to arrange a deal. I am sure it should be possible to work out something.
Got plenty of toys since my childhood which could be of use for the tiny population. They could maybe start to work for me and get paid in Hive?
Great.
