I hope you are wrong about Steemit, but thinking critically with caution is always prudent. The backing issue is a real factor and one I am pondering with all of this. At least Bitcoin has a finite quantity and Blockchain tech is for sure here to stay (given the grid is up).
My first skill sets are around natural ways and living more like a Victorian farmer with an understanding of backyard medicine, animal husbandry, preserving the food I grow and enjoying a more organic life (sad one has to say that these days).
I really LOVE the freedom from the "overlords" that blockchain tech offers and have not felt so full of hope in years...... heres hoping, and I can only back that with sweet wishes of prosperity for those of us seeking it. :)

I think the blockchain technology is here to stay, not sure about how the cryptos will intertwine with it though.
