An animal black and white for Thursday's #monomad run by @brumest .
I'm friends with a woman who runs an animal rescue organisation in our area - we've adopted a dog and a cat from her. She recently rescued a mother cat and her three tiny kittens - they were two weeks old at the time. The mother had been hit by a train and lost a leg (she's fine! made a full recovery), but couldn't keep the babies while she was in hospital and then couldn't go back to feeding them because of the drugs in her system. Since my friend is always running around like crazy attending rescues and training and interventions and re-homing and stuff, we volunteered to take the kittens to bottle-feed them until they're on solids and need less constant supervision.
This is the only female of the three, she's a patchy calico, and very boisterous and energetic!
In just 7 years, one un-spayed female cat and one un-neutered male cat and their offspring can result in 420,000 kittens.
