A shortest introduction for Lukla possible is that it is a small town in the Khumbu Pasanglhamu rural municipality of the Solukhumbu District in the Province No. 1 of north-eastern Nepal. Beautifully located at 2,860 meter and known among visitors to the Himalayas. It serves as a point connected by air for travelers to trek and reach the summit of Mount Everest.

I went for Everest base camp trek in 2019, it turned out to one of its kind of adventure for me. It was a 15 days trek in the Himalayas to reach the base camp. I was all pumped up for the journey and have a glimpse of the world’s tallest mountain.

And then this happened. My flight to Lukla got cancelled due to strong monsoon in the valley. And many travelers like me were stuck at Kathmandu since days due to unfavorable weather conditions. And the only way out was to travel by road and start trek from Phaphlu to Lukla.

I was determined to take on with the journey. I took 18 hours of road journey to Phaphlu and later trekked for one and a half day to reach Lukla.

The trek from Paphlu to Lukla is not popular among tourist and is utilized by porters.
The beauty of the journey was that it was untouched, lush green landscape with small waterfalls, suspension bridges and roaring river crossings. Beautiful mountain houses of locals.

I will share the following journey of the trek in my next post, stay tuned. Keep shining.
