There are some people that have learnt so much about success that they can quote the laws of success and even explain them to you, yet they are not reflecting in their lives because they have not put them to practice themselves. It is not enough to learn how things work, it is also important for you to put them to work to achieve the result. Imagine someone having the secrets of running a successful business but does not apply them to their business, how will they achieve success in their business? This is just like someone learning theoretically how to swim, maybe by watching videos, but has not entered the water before to practicalize it, how will he even know that he knows how to swim? It is action that will complete your learning.

It is true that learning is a very beautiful thing, because it broadens ones mind, enhances their inner vision, gives them ideas, and makes them create possibilities. But learning alone is not where it stops. In fact, you can learn all you can, gather extensive knowledge, attend seminars, read books, and even listen to motivational speeches, but growth will only come when you put to action what you have learnt. Without putting actions to your knowledge, it will not profit you as it should. The true growth actually begins when you start to practise what you have learnt. It is what you do with what you know that actually brings the result that you need.
A lot of people assume learning to be an achievement. They are so focused on acquiring new knowledge, writing notes, filling their shelves with books, yet their lives still remain the way they are. The reason behind this is simple; they have not put to work what they have learnt. No matter how many good seeds you gather and put in a bottle and keep inside a cupboard, they will not grow until they are planted. Even though they have the potentials to bear fruits, but actions must he taken on them first by planting them for the potentials to be turned to results.
Learning may give you information, but what brings the transformation is action. You will grow stronger, become better, wiser, and gain more confidence when you move from just gathering theories to putting them to practice. The power of knowledge rests in exercising it through actions. This is actually what leads to success. In an exam for example, the examiner will not know your extent of knowledge until you have proven it by answering the question. Even if you know the answer, you will be judged by the answer you have given, not the one in your brain. In the same way, you will experience success when you have complemented your learning with the relevant actions.

It is action that tests the strength of your knowledge. When you have acted, you will know what works and what does not work. There is no way to know if something really works until you have tried it out. It is through action that you will know this. You will also know where to adjust, what to improve on, and even what not to do again. By applying what you have learnt, you will sharpen your mind and build up experiences, and also build confidence. You will agree with me that there is a level of confidence that comes when you have tried out something over and again. You have to note that growth is not about perfection, rather it is more about making progress, continuously trying, and becoming better through relevant actions.
Growth demands that you will act with courage. Of course, doing what you have not done before, and stepping out of your comfort zone, will require a form of courage. You might even make mistakes at some point, but they are not meant to set you back, but to teach your more lessons. After all, they are still part of the learning processes. Every mistake that you make will teach you something new, and will also make the next step to be better than the previous. The people who constantly grow are not the people who know the most, but the people who try and act the most. So do not just sit with the knowledge that you have acquired, put them to work.
