OK people, here it finally is!
The Snapshot Date
A snapshot of the current Muse blockchain will be taken between the 9th and 11th of August. A random block number will be selected during this 3 day time period.
Any of the blocks between August 9th 00:00:01 UTC and August 11th 23:59:59 UTC could be used to generate the Genesis Block of the new Muse Blockchain.
This means you should:
- Ensure your MUSE is sitting in your wallet (not on exchanges)
- Keep it there for the full 3 days – do not transfer it around or trade it
The launch of the new MUSE blockchain will follow shortly after.
Make sure you look at my previous posts here on Steemit if you have no idea what I'm talking about!
Can you please take the snap shot towards the end of the period? Myself and other old school AGS/PTS/BTS hodlers are having a hell of a time getting the share drop tokens over into the Muse wallet thanks to the 093c wallet issues. And I'm talking millions of NOTEs to be claimed, it is not going well.

Am I correct in my understanding that the actual block at which the snapshot is taken will not be known until the 12th?
@cob, it would be highly beneficial for PR if you could coordinate with Openledger to halt trading on the OPEN.MUSE markets at the time of the snapshot. If not, people-in-the-know will be able to take advantage of people-not-in-the-know by selling their now-worthless OPEN.MUSE on the markets.
I know, buyer beware and all that, but my view is that a little bit of effort directed at customer protection goes a long way.
Or better yet, if OpenLedger credited holders of OPEN.MUSE on the new chain, since they will have any MUSE on deposit with them at the time of the snapshot.
Well this, yes. Certainly. I expect they will. But that's not really @cob's call.
Update: I just got an email from OpenLedger saying this is what they will do.
As always @cob appreciate the info. I really believe this project will impact the music industry and mainstream in many positive ways. i.e more freedom of expression without negative influence.

the problem is that sending small amounts of OPEN.MUSE will not cover the "gateway fee" of 20 OPEN.MUSE. So you need to send more than that. The user experience isn't very nice and doesn't prevent you from sending.

Muse will have it's own web wallet with a similar look and feel to Steemit. I am no aware of other wallets that will integrate with it yet. We need to launch the main net first.
Ok because you said in the article "Ensure your MUSE is sitting in your wallet (not on exchanges)" so I was curious as to where we can store it now prior to the blocks. I have my MUSE in OpenLedger so I was hoping that was a safe place to keep it? Thank you @cob! Great article and I appreciate the information! :-)
Having it in OpenLedger is not the same as having it in a wallet. You have two options. Move it to webwallet at https://wallet.muse.help/ , or download desktop wallet at https://github.com/peertracksinc/muse/releases/tag/1.0.160327

OpenLedger is an exchange. You need to WITHDRAW your MUSE asap and have them in your Muse wallet.

what to do?
First try changing "ws://" to "wss://" . If that doesn't work, try "wss://cn.wallet.muse/help/ws " I recommend the latter.

When you are on OpenLedger and you see the asset OPEN.MUSE. You must not "Transfer" it you must "WITHDRAW" it!
Big difference. One stays on the BitShares Chain, the other is cross-chain (from BitShares to Muse)

The web wallet https://wallet.muse.help/#/create-account is not Loading properly.
It only says "Loading..." for an hour now.
