Performing The Polar Express Suite! - A High School Musician's Story

Those who were following me from the very beginning know that I am a huge fan of performing music. I started playing the trumpet and other instruments since 5th grade and continued to the present day. I wanna share one experience that was one of the driving forces for me to pursue a career in music. That's my very first winter concert at my high school!

During my freshman year of high school, most of the concert band were new incoming newbies like me. So most of the music we started playing was almost high school beginners music. But as the winter concert comes around the corner, we looked into more Christmas music to play. Our band director thought the Suite from "The Polar Express" would be a great opportunity. And me being a huge fan of "The Polar Express" movie, I was excited to perform it. I was only a third trumpet-part player in the piece, but it was still memorable nonetheless.

One of my friend's visiting relatives was able to put up this video of my first high school concert and of the performance of the Suite. So I wanted to show you. This also happens to be around the time where I started really thinking about being a musician.
