Many say music is food for the soul, but I actually think it's way more than that. Music is more of a universal lingua. It is a language that doesn't need to be learnt, you key in instantly once the melody appeals to your senses. That's why you find yourself tapping your feet and nodding your head to songs rendered in foreign languages. You can't understand the lyrical language, but the melodic lingua is clearly expressed to you.

I often wonder what life would look like without music.

What are we gonna be doing in parties if nothing like music existed?
What would be happening in club houses?
How would we worship and praise God if there wasn't music?
What do we listen to over our earphones when we workout?

It's a long list of whats but I'll stop at these few.

History has it that music probably first originated in #Africa. According to Wikipedia:

"...music may have been in existence for at least 55,000 years and the first music may have been invented in Africa and then evolved to become a fundamental constituent of human life."

Hence music is another one of the rich, priceless legacies bequeathed to us by mama Africa.
It's something that has gone ahead to change a lot of things about the contemporary man.

Personally, I can't imagine a life where music is non existent. It'll be a life filled with boredom and melancholy. While certain types of music can be a source of motivation and upliftment, others give us a steady rhythm to groove to when we feel like dancing away some stress and sweat.

Music is a priceless gift which can't be underestimated. The music industry since time immemorial, has produced tons of talents and made a lot of people awesomely rich.

Even as I'm writing this piece, I'm sitting in a taxi nodding my head to 2baba's true love, which brings me to one of the most popular uses of music.

Many have used it as an effective tool in professing undying love to their hearthrobs. Often times when I listen to some love songs, I tend to wonder where the artistes got their lyrics from. Some lyrics can be so deep and exquisite that you can't help but marvel at the eloquence of the artistes.

So go ahead, listen to some worthwhile songs, make music a part of your daily health diet.

If music never existed, life would have been one sad shell of melancholy, but thanks to mama #Africa, we have a rich legacy to also pass down to the coming generations.

Over and out!
Still me #mapens.
