You will know by now that I'm a lover of Drum and bass, infact I love allsorts of dance music. Anything with a nice fast beat. Most of the music i listen to, is made up of samples and drum loops.
Recently i learnt something very interesting about a drum sample which is used in all kinds of music. From rave tunes to hip hop, you are bound to have heard this break.

This was drum break created and performed by Gregory Coleman, from the 60's band The Winstons. It was featured on their track - Amen Brother.

The Winstons.
Here is their Song Amen-Brother, the break is around halfway through the song.
Here is the really sad thing, you would think that the sample of Gregory Colemans break. Which has been used in millions of tracks worldwide. Wouldve made him a nice amount of cash..... Wrong. The truth is that Gregory Coleman, didnt receive any royalties when his break was used. Sadly he was broke and homeless when he died in 2006.
