“You’ll Feel Nothing” (feat. Nomi Abadi) by Jacquie Joy

I’ve had the pleasure of listening to several previous compositions Joy did for movies, here's an example: https://hive.blog/music/@tanbay/soundtrack-for-the-rogue-barrens-by-jacquie-joy-album-review This song starts off very peaceful and happy sounding, the vocals kick in quickly at 10 seconds into the song. Singer Nomi Abadi has what I would call the perfect voice for this song. But what surprised me is the sudden change of mood that happens at about 30 seconds. The song suddenly starts to get darker and more aggressive. It reminds me much more of artists like David Guetta, whereas the beginning was more in the style of Kyle Minogue. I certainly love the super-catchy synth melody that you can hear starting at 30 seconds.

The verse is also much darker than the beginning, I’d say the song actually really rocks, even though it is technically a dance track. What’s also interesting is the next transition, at about 1:15, as it slows down a little and begins to sound happier again. Composer Jacquie Joy is certainly a master of transitioning between emotions in a single song, but so far I’ve only heard that in cinematic soundtracks of hers. So to hear the same style on a pop/dance song is fascinating. There is such depth to this that I’d hardly call is a “pop” song. I also love the section at 2 minutes when Abadi sings “You feel nothing, nothing” and then the catchy synth melody starts again. I can certainly see this song being used in clubs all over the world, but it is definitely also suitable to be used in commercials or shows/movies. A very classy image of singer Nomi Abadi can be viewed below.

At about 2:30 the song has a section that is a little calmer and gives the listener room to take everything in, because there has been a lot going on in the first 2 1/2 minutes of this song already! The track starts to rock again at about 2:45. This is then followed by another verse and I love the line “Escape your life, start anew, you know you want to…”. The song continues with the chorus and the line “You feel nothing, nothing”, gets better every time I hear it. The song then ends on a very happy note, the same way it began.

The mixing and mastering is once again fantastic, I expected nothing less from Joy, the vocals are phenomenal, singer Nomi Abadi did a great job for sure. So, if you're into dance music, then you definitely have to check out this track and make sure to follow Jacquie Joy! Here are the official links:
