I'm Jecenta and I'm from Idheze, Delta state, Nigeria. Delta state is known as "the big heart" of Nigeria.
DESCRIPTIONOF MY HOME TOWN
Idheze is one of the towns in Isoko-south. It is surrounded by swamplands. It has many oil wells which are run by Shell Petroleum Development Company. My town is a very serene environment. It is a small community which is lead by a Chief. There are few farmlands, 2 primary schools and a secondary school. The major occupation in my home town is farming. The language we speak is Isoko.
FOOD
Idheze is popularly known for our Banga soup and starch,owo soup and garri. Other foods includes rice,yam,beans and other foods.
DRESSING
The major attire for the women is wrapper, blouse and gele. The men wear wrapper,long shirt,cap and then walking stick is added to make it more unique.
FESTIVALS
The major festival is Eni festival. Eni festival attracts people from all walks of life. It is accompanied with much fanfare,music, cooking and eating of delicious native food. It also includes exchange of gifts
I really love my home town.
