Can glass help rebuild Louisiana's coast? Researchers plan to find out

Researchers primarily from Tulane want to find out. They're studying whether recycled glass turned into sand can help slow land loss devastating Louisiana's coast.

Interesting article about how researchers are trying to use glass to help restore the eroding Louisiana coast. This is a great idea if it turns out to work, the world is full of glass that could be used for the project. And I know that in the South Louisiana area, glass is not recycled like in other parts of the world. I feel terrible throwing glass in the trash when I know that it's just going to end up in a land fill. Fingers crossed on this one.....

How much of an impact do you think this could have, a lot or marginal?

Could be a game changer if communities foot some of the bill to make it happen. After all it would save money on land fill costs.

Good idea, I wonder what the costs are to make it happen?

I'm not sure about that either, costs tend to bed more than people think at first
