If there's one thing a woman loves it's flowers! (well, I do! Haha). Some say diamonds but I would 'rather wear flowers in my hair than diamonds around my neck'! I can't really say I have a favourite flower as they are all beautiful in there own way, offering various colours, smells and sometimes even tastes! I am quite fond of lilies though, and white roses, gerberas, daisies... Ok, you get the picture, I'll stop! ;)

About 3 months ago (wow, scary how time passes!) I was taking a walk through the town of Hermanus (a seaside town Southeast of Cape Town, South Africa) and visited the Fernkloof Nature Reserve. It was a lovely day, walking by the sea and nature reserve before the hard lockdown hit! But the less said about that the better! There wasn't many flowers to see at that point as it wasn't the right time of year, however, now that spring is here in South Africa the flowers are starting to bloom.
I have always wanted to go to a place called Namaqualand where there are thousands of types of flowers! It looks breathtakingly beautiful with lots of hiking trails and dreamy scenery, a piece of nature's paradise!
According to Wikipedia...
Namaqualand (khoi Nama kwa land meaning Nama Khoi people's land) is an arid region of Namibia and South Africa, extending along the west coast over 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) and covering a total area of 440,000 square kilometres (170,000 sq mi). It is divided by the lower course of the Orange River into two portions – Little Namaqualand to the south and Great Namaqualand to the north.
I'm heading into Cape Town for a week next week so am busy researching areas on where to go and see the beautiful flowers! (Any saffas out there with recommendations would be greatly appreciated haha!).
The photo used above is a Namaqua Daisy (or so I'm told lol!) and they were a lovely purple colour! (I edited it for the purpose of this contest). Below is the coloured version, just because I think they're pretty! :)
Just like wildflowers;
You must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.
