I cut out soda starting september 1 of last year. I thought it would be harder than it has been. I had wanted to do it for a bit but always stayed away from actually making the goal. Then I heard about how great one of my buddies felt when he cut it and out and just went cold turkey on Sept 1.
Benefits that I have seen.
Money saving. I got most of my soda for free from an awesome co worker who keeps a cooler in the back of his truck at all times and always has cool drinks that he shares freely with everyone who wants one. I sometimes would send him some venmo that he would reject or send back. Even though I got all that for free I did still buy some. It's nice not ever buying that. I carry a water bottle now with me and it's easy to fill up whenever I need a drink.
I feel better and am losing weight. It has helped me cut calories for sure. I was never too big a fan of a ton of diets sodas though so I got some sugar from those drinks.
Cons to cutting it out.
I miss a cold drink sometimes. I am not against drinking one every now and then not that I have the habit not to drink them very much.
